“I want the casualties to start at 3 million and then rise to 10 million”

Quark: shocked picachu face

possiblylinux127,

Edward Snowden isn’t god

I know that’s a shock to some…

Anyway I think he means self hosted options

possiblylinux127,

A model is that feeling you feel after eating baby carrots

A model is the smoothness of a dog on leather

A model is a salad that taste like mud

A model is…

possiblylinux127,

I wouldn’t use it personally

possiblylinux127,

Don’t trust the cloud. You can setup AI locally.

possiblylinux127,

The NSA supposedly has a in house AI model that can search though collected data for suspects

possiblylinux127,

It would be better if he posted on Mastodon

possiblylinux127,

I use Ollama plus openwebUI. It won’t sort your documents but you can upload a doc for AI tasks.

possiblylinux127,

*Mistral

possiblylinux127,

Ollama with Lava and Mistral

possiblylinux127,

How? It is running locally

possiblylinux127,

Locked down proprietary ecosystem that lacks basic support for open standards.

No thanks

possiblylinux127,

Just use a custom rom

possiblylinux127,

The hardware is locked down and proprietary. I wouldn’t call it great.

possiblylinux127,

They kill of third party solutions shamelessly.

possiblylinux127,

So I’m confused on what your point is

possiblylinux127,

You cant use standard parts in there hardware

possiblylinux127,

That isn’t the case though

I literally run it on my own hardware. Zero proprietary software is needed.

possiblylinux127,

No you can’t really as lightning requires you to pay royalties to Apple. It isn’t a open connector. You can’t even get anything faster than USB2 speeds.

possiblylinux127,

I don’t use MacOS. Never did I say I use Mac OS

It sounds like you may be lacking an understanding. I run Debian in a VM that has Ollama and OpenWebUI. The base OS is Linux I just use VMs to separate everything out.

possiblylinux127,

Only the most recent ones and everything but the “pro” model doesn’t support anything but USB 2.

Not that it matters though as it is still a locked down ecosystem.

possiblylinux127,

I connect peripherals to my phone. You can’t do that with a iphone

possiblylinux127,

Because I don’t want an IPhone? I don’t like Apple.

possiblylinux127,

I can’t use KDE for anything that requires stability and ease of use. It isn’t bad but gnome and KDE slightly different use cases.

possiblylinux127,

Gnome is way better that Mac OS

possiblylinux127,

Would it be possible to turn this into a more general fundraiser? If possible it would be nice to he able to toss in a donation to a instance or project at Check out. It could be similar to stores offering to round up to support charity.

Not that I don’t want to support you and future events. Canvas events are really fun I just think we need to stop and appreciate everyone who makes the fediverse possible.

possiblylinux127,

Why not? That is the origins

possiblylinux127,

It really is the only one that is really watchable. It is so much better than anything newer.

possiblylinux127,

There isn’t any Foss phone. Graphene os and everything else requires proprietary software for the modem to operate at a minimum.

If you are ok with some proprietary software go with Lineage OS

possiblylinux127,

Couldn’t you use the website?

possiblylinux127,

Lineage OS is a base system that you can use to get the AOSP experience with modern apps. It is most certainly not for just for older phones. It also is going to be updated more frequently than anything else.

possiblylinux127,

I used to do that then I discovered that I didn’t need MicroG

possiblylinux127,

I personally prefer Lineage OS

possiblylinux127,

but as the name implies, it’s intended for older phones to increase their life

From above

possiblylinux127,

I just get all my apps from F-Droid. For notifications I use unified push

possiblylinux127,

No they just turned if off by default. They can change that will an update

possiblylinux127,

Yes it is

They can change your settings anytime.

possiblylinux127,

Maybe some other game at a different time of year. Perhaps some arcade games or something.

Then again, this thread is old
