The demo is only a few days old and people instantly modding Bloodborne models into it is absolutely hilarious. People REALLY want Bloodborne on PC huh.
Anybody remember the Atari VCS? It was such a total disaster that the developer of the first exclusive game on it wasn't notified that his game was going to be on the console.
It's not at odds, it's the way you engage with enemies. Starfield at its core is still an RPG, gunplay is just one facet to it. You can choose not to fight enemies and just explore, talk to NPCs, build bases... You could decide to play melee or do different builds like stealth instead of just blasting enemies. It's a choice.
That's like saying Skyrim is just a mindless game about whacking people with swords. Combat is a part of it, but the game isn't about combat, and they've never advertised it as such.
The wingsuit in Just Cause 3 might be the most fun traversal I've seen in any game, it's just a shame there's nothing much to explore and the world is pretty boring. I've always enjoyed playing it for a little bit but the game's kinda shallow to warrant ever finishing it or actually taking quests seriously.
Why wouldn't games have guns? If you're going to have combat in your game, it's either ranged combat or melee combat. Starfield has both, why wouldn't an open world sci-fi game have guns?
There's no lack of games without guns. Hell, there's no lack of games that don't even have combat now. You just need to find games you enjoy.
It's crazy, I have 80 hours in this game and love it a lot but never came close to finishing it.
I picked it up in Early Access and went all the way to the frost dungeon, which was where content ended.
I picked it up on release and played up until the desert dungeon, then stopped playing because I got busy.
I the picked it up like 2 years later and forgot where I stopped or what I was doing. I want to play it again but I feel like I need to start a new game again.
Mindustry is an awesome strategy game that combines Factorio with tower defense.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart (ridiculous name I know) is one of the most underrated games ever. It's a super polished, high quality Kart game with an insane amount of mods and maps. The online isn't that populated but the singleplayer time trial is TONS of fun. If you like hunting for medals, it can be a pretty deep rabbit hole. There's a sequel in development but no release date.
GzDoom is the most popular Doom source port and there's a practically infinite amount of user generated content. If you don't know where to start I highly recommend Doom: The Golden Souls Remastered and Castlevania: Simon's Destiny. They're good enough to be premium games.
