Made this before my mom left back to the states, and had written down the recipe for her....
Mixed veggies in mango sauce over quinoa and brown rice with tempura tofu
I don’t usually write recipes or amounts but recently I’ve been doing some experiments so I’ve loosely written what I did at least, in case my wife wants to recreate the dish with my help when going through chemo....
my mom used to make this a ton growing up but i was rarely in the mood for it
As is often the case with my meals, this was a “use it up before it turns” meal. Had some beef top round roast, jalapenos, carrots, and cabbage, plus a giant bag of oranges from my parent’s tree that need to be eaten, and this is what came out....
Here’s the link to their recipe....

Since there was some curiosity about what a sushi-bake is, here’s my own recipe for it. Sushi-bake is basically a “deconstructed” sushi roll where the ingredients are layered instead of rolled then baked in the oven. There are different variations of how it’s made, so this is my take on it. Apologies if I don’t have...
Saw this on the America’s Test Kitchen tv channel and had to try it....

Decided to smoke a goose for Christmas. It was a big hit. We also got about 4 cups of smoked goose fat out of it....
I went to the lady I buy vegetables from and asked for some mild, flavorful chilies. Cutting the first one I could tell they were not mild. When life gives you 500 grams of the wrong chilies, you make hot sauce. The flavor is great, but wrong for the dish I was making....
I don’t have a super definitive recipe as I kind of winged this. Really good though!...
Palak paneer...
Ask Lemmy had a question on “How do you eat mustard?” and one of the responses was about Dutch Mustard Soup… which sounded intriguing....
Thanks for the suggestions for the tuna recipes! I just wanted to share that I made some of them and will be making more next week. So far I’ve made a few different adjustments to my onigiri, adding gochujang, kimchi or both. I also had a rice bowl topped with tuna and pickled ginger, and made my very first tuna melt with...
For no particular reason except it popped into my head, a sorta pizza hut pizza for Christmas dinner....
