mindbleach,

Watch them still never release it in English, because fuck you.

Well, it's not nontrivial, they won't just use the existing fan translation, they'd have to do it themselves. I do think they should, but it's questionable what they'd really get out of that, in terms of financial return.

TWeaK,

Aww man, I thought it was a new game for a minute there.

supernicepojo,

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (SNES)

Blast Corps (N64) - Expansion Pack Required

Killer Instinct (SNES)

Mother 3 (GBA) - Japan only

R.C. Pro-Am (NES)

Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll (NES)

TWeaK,

Mother 3 (GBA) - Japan only

If you don’t count all the hacked Switches out there lol.

supernicepojo,

I dont personally, no. Emulation is a trivial task to accomplish on every device, really.

Minnels,

Can’t you just change zone on your Nintendo account and download the Japan app like you could do back in the day? Sure, the game is till in Japanese but you get the game :p

Not true. It would require Nintendo to make an English translation. The one we have isn’t an official translation.

Not necessarily; there are a few SNES games in the Switch Online library that weren't localised and hence remain untranslated from Japanese, namely Super Puyo Puyo 2, Panel de Pon, Mario's Super Picross, and Kirby's Star Stacker. Though all of those games are puzzle games, which don't necessarily need language to be enjoyed, whereas an RPG like Mother 3 would likely be much less enjoyable without understanding the dialogue, battle UI and so on.

    can,

    So necessarily lol

    cyborganism,

You can change your location in the settings and get Japanese games.

    simple,

    It’s in Japanese though

    cyborganism,

    Ah well… yeah

    TWeaK,

Fingers crossed someone will hack the NSP for it and translate it. Bit of a long shot, though.

    Kecessa,

Why not just play on an emulator at that point?

    TWeaK,

I mean, that’s basically what all of these are. However the official online titles sometimes have little fixes that aren’t present in regular emulations.

    Kecessa,

Sure, but why wait for someone to hack it and translate it when translated ROMs already exist, you will be procuring it illegally either way
