it lists (almost) all of the games, with a short description of why to play; that has value for me, since I like to play most of a given series I like
I personally don’t care about the order they give, I care more about the consolidated list of games. I especially like the “top XX games in {genre}” lists, because it helps me find fun games to play in a genre I like. Again, I don’t care about order, I’m just looking for a somewhat related list of well-known games.
They specified single player in the title. So neither XI or XIV would be included. I just thought it was odd that they didn’t include any of the other single player games either.
So, you’re welcome to your opinion. But it’s definitely the minority. Long story short, there’s plenty of reason to prefer X.
As a game in and of itself, the gameplay is far superior. IX is slow as hell and makes me want to not want to replay the game.
The majority of the previous games are linear, especially when you’re just following the story. X had just as many branches to explore. They just didn’t have the overworld.
If we’re talking impact on the franchise.
XII and XV are two of the most open world games we’ve had and they came after X. XVI also has plenty to explore. And this is ignoring the two MMOs. It seems like your problem is with XIII.
Also they’ve always been the best looking games in the market.
