They’re not wrong…

phi1997, in Square Enix cancels Just Cause: Mobile and early access version

Didn't they sell Eidos a while back to fund NFTs?

conciselyverbose, in This is my original NX mockup concept I had back in 2015, I wonder if this can be revived for the Switch 2 (which I know is coming now), a removable second screen for handled mode. This isn't my only current idea, the other is a screen in the controllers.

How much are they paying me to use that monstrosity?

You never know, NDont loves their extra screens, so you might be on to something.

On the other hand, this seems about as useful as the PS4 with a 4-Disc changer or adding a game card magazine clip that sticks out real far and will auto-change games as needed (very loud and slow).

That was just for the screen. The controls I will be nice and won’t even mention.

KbinItTogether, in OverClocked ReMix: Video Game Music Community
@KbinItTogether@kbin.social avatar

There was a remix of Gato's Song from Chrono Trigger where they performed it in several different styles and added in a crowd booing after every performance that strangely stuck with me after all these years.

And I found it! It's Team Gato by Dale North and Mustin! And here's the link to it directly on Youtube.

The author misquoted them in a strange way. Is this AI lol.

Gorejelly, in Xbox Game Pass: renowned studio confirms 6 surprise games
@Gorejelly@kbin.social avatar

It might just be me, but I’d really like it if the posts were not just links but also included even the slightest bit of effort to them.

In case anyone else looks here, the company in question is Annapurna, and the six games are Cocoon, Flock, Bounty Star, Thirsty Suitors, To A T, and Ghost Bike.

The link has videos for all six games, as well as release dates and the other systems those games will be released on.

Some of the best devs out there and a win-win business model. The new content pays for itself since it just keeps bringing people in, and they feel that's plenty of income to not feel like moving to dlc.

Tragic that it wasn't destroyed, both for the flavour win of hucking it in a volcano, and the moral victory of fucking over MtG finance types.

Potatomache, in What are some of your favorite videogames from your childhood? What made them so special?
@Potatomache@kbin.social avatar

Ooh! Nostalgia time!

I have very vivid memories of Sonic, Pac-Man 2, Moto Racer 97, Contra, Final Fight 2 & 3, Knights of the Round, Earthworm Jim, Spyro, Phantasy Star IV, and Mega-Man. I don't remember a lick of storyline but when I close my eyes, they're there.

As for games that have a more emotional tether, that would be things like Legend of Mana, Chrono Cross, and Threads of Fate. All of which helped build my love for fantasy. I was enamored by the art style and gameplay of LoM, the fact that you could mix and match different skills and discover new ones was like a drug, add in a crafting and pet system and I was stuck. I have a deep love for the soundtrack of Chrono Cross, the combat system also challenged my stupid child brain. Threads of Fate was more of a casual playthrough, but I remember going back to it over and over again, because I kept losing my saves.

I also have games that were more communal: sometimes played with cousins and siblings or with me as the riveted audience. Things like Bomber-man, Tetris, Puyo-Puyo 2, Worms, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7-9, Valkyrie Profile, Prince of Persia and Grandia. I have stories for all of those but this is already getting too long. 😅

Heros of Might and Magic 3 is still one of my favorite games. Too many games from childhood to name, but that one holds a special place in my heart.

OctoFloofy, in Which was your favorite console controller and why?
@OctoFloofy@kbin.social avatar

For me my Switch Pro Controller and Xbox. Guess it's mode about the layout for me. I really don't like the Playstation layout especially for the sticks. That one causes my hand to just hurt.
