ashley,

There’s a Debian risc-v port

Your best bet is Debian, or raspbian. The OSes for it are listed on the website.

sleepybisexual,

Quick question but does the image have a GUI? My main issue with my current os is the kinda lacking gui

Your model has no GPU, so it’s possible that no graphical environment is supported. I suggest you sell it and get a Raspberry Pi if what you’re after is a more desktop experience.

sleepybisexual,

So I should just get an adapter board and a cm4?

Where do I get those

You need another computer, not the r01 to do what you want.

sleepybisexual,

Oh, no way to use a cm4 in it? Can still use text adventures on it at least :D

SheeEttin,

Debian and Fedora have ports, though not all packages are available, and you’ll probably be doing a lot of porting if you want anything else.

But this bit from the uConsole R-01 product page might be relevant to you:

uConsole R-01 is a highly experimental model and requires some experience with Linux systems & FOSS. We strongly recommend all beginners choose other models.

Pantherina,

Did some digging in Fedora projects and many seem unofficial or randomly scattered around.

sleepybisexual,

Yea, I know it’s not exactly a beginner device, just recieved it as a gift and want to see how I can use it

Diplomjodler,

Maybe put in the title that it’s for RISC-V? Otherwise people will just say use Mint.

sleepybisexual,

Good point. Thank you for telling me lol
