Great.

Corigan,

It found that renewables have grown from 19% of electricity in 2000 to more than 30% of global electricity last year.>

I’m glad green energy is growing but this is too slow, 11percent increase in nearly 25 years, pathetic Yeah leaders obviously don’t give a shit about this planet. I bet the growth is mostly China (there giant solar farms) and areas were green is cheaper

shalafi,

Did you not look at the graph?! Renewables are exploding. You’re looking at 24-years. Look again, since 2019.

kandoh,

I think they’re just condemning how slow a start we got off to

YungOnions,

Further, in this article it states that a separate peer-reviewed study found that in fact fossil fuels are still used for 82% of energy generation and that the 30% number was pulled out of someone’s ass from what I can tell. And for the 30% number they’re saying 16% is from hydropower and then the other 14% is 7% wind 7% solar. Somehow this math doesn’t add up to me. I realize this is uplifting news and I’m not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but I would like factually sourced articles.
