It cannot have anything to do with his long, long, political history like supporting the Iraq war, supporting NAFTA, worsening the student loan situation by excluding them from personal bankruptcy, his crime bills that drastically increased the imprisonment of POC minorities, his introduction of the original patriot act and strong endorsement of its final form, his ratcheting up of Trump’s border policy, his lying about having seen decapitated dead babies, lying about having been arrested to see Nelson Mandela, voting for a constitutional amendment to allow states to overturn Roe v Wade, or his voting to to end federal funding to provide abortions to victims of rape and incest, supporting capital punishment until 2019, and on and on and on.
