It says “Eat our fish or to to hell”. They’re known for having edgy/spicy zingers on there. To my knowledge, I don’t believe they’ve ever had anything political on there. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend grabbing a bite from them, definitely more of a grab and go kinda situation though, not much seating.

This is what I’ve been chasing for a while. Bspwm like tiling with a unity like interface for the status bar, dock, system management, etc. I’ve been debating trying this through xfce or kde but havent had the spoons to give it a go

Different time. Air bud came out in 97. This was well before “woke” was a thing conservatives thought they were afraid of. 9/11 didn’t happen yet. America was a very different place and America loved Disney. This would have been watched by a lot of gen x, both on the early end as parents, and on the late end as children. Millennials have seen it for sure, myself being one of them. I think the odds are pretty high that someone would catch on sooner rather than later.

That’s more so what I was meaning, my father’s gen x from the early side and watched it with us as kids, including my older brother who’s on the tail end of gen x. I guess it really does come down to proximity to millenials

I think the problem is that reddit is suffering the same fate as Facebook. It’s no longer a niche Internet community, it’s been overrun by people who think it’s hip and in. It’s been taken over by people who speak some of the language, but don’t get the culture. No one knows when the narwhal baconed anymore. Lemmy is exhibiting the earlier stages of reddit. Small groups that are growing, plus a looooot of star trek fans sprinkled throughout.

I think you’re absolutely right about the eternal summer. A new demographic of users takes over. The tourists move in. The shame of it is that as noted, it’s an inevitability for any social media, it’s just a matter of time.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what I expected when I first heard this was in the works. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure theres plenty of people who enjoy halo infinite. I’m not one of them. The game wasn’t well optimized at the time I played it, a few months after release. Skins were horrible and locked behind micro transactions. Maps were garbage, and matchmaking made it worse. I don’t think I ever got into a match at the start, I was always backfilled. They promised a bunch of fixes/features and delivered on almost none of them. It sucks, Halo was a big part of my highschool years and now it feels like a really shitty money grab. The worst part about it, we have an example of a functioning money grab game, fortnite. People clown on it, but it’s actually fun to play from time to time and I don’t feel burdened by micro transactions like I do with halo infinite

The last of us part 1, Pittsburgh, with Sam and Henry. Gets me every fucking time, even though I know exactly what’s coming

Did you play destiny 1? It had a rocky start for sure, but once crota came out, they really hit their stride. The taken king was peak destiny, everything was fun, replayability was there, raids were great, pvp was balanced (as well as it could be), the game felt fantastic. Wrath of the machine was a slight downturn, then destiny 2 destroyed all of it. Destiny 2 has yet to live up to the high standard that destiny 1 set.

Currently, I boot it up every once in a blue moon, but I’m stuck not knowing what actually matters, what the story is, or anything. I never fully unlocked stasis because none of it made sense. The green stringy shit is cool and refreshing, but it’s the same for all three classes. The game feels like poop, and this is from someone who’s been playing since beta

I recently fell back into super monkey ball banana mania and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. Outside of that, it’s been a good rotation of call of duty and the binding of Isaac. If you couldn’t tell, I really love slamming my head against the wall as well
