Don’t blame the president: WE decided to go in and kill a ton of Taliban, WE decided to spend actual trillions standing up and equipping an army that did not give enough of a fuck about anything but grifting. The ANA did not even try to slow down the Taliban when the US stopped acting as a backstop. Afghanistan never really thought of itself as a cohesive nation, we were never going to change their psyche.
I’d rather blame Bush and Obama for sinking trillions into helping their friends get rich at the cost of everyone pretending we were building a real country.
I only ever had two lucid dreams: one as a child, where I conjured a gun to play with, and my best dream, ever in my life, as an adult where I just turned the dream into an orgy. Read about training lucid dreaming and tried but could never actually get myself to lucid dream again.
Your post implies that government is good by default.
There’s hiding bad activity the government was elected to perform, like intelligence meddling in foreign affairs to protect the country’s interests, and there’s hiding activity to shield themselves from voter accountability, like using the apparatus to enrich other parts of government at a direct cost to its own citizens, or shield malicious actors from accountability.
More memory means you can do real work with it, and enterprise AI training is a money printer that they’d be scavenging the shit out of with cards that are closer substitutes.
But then you can do work with it, and that’s where the real money is at.
They should all be shipping with 32GB now… AMD is at least seeing the light by releasing some 24gb cards under $1k
Really hope Intel’s next generation of GPU silicon makes it a more realistic substitute - that would actually spice things up a lot, you basically won’t see real competition again until nVidia’s AI training dominance is in someone’s crosshairs
