Been playing Helldivers 2, really fun game!
Question about it: It offers a curved HUD option in the settings, which is really neat in the YT vids I’ve seen, especially since I have a curved monitor. I’d love to enable this, but it doesn’t work at all for me. Does it for anyone else?
This is potentially terrible news. I love Eurogamer and RPS, if they get sold to a more greedy network like Fandom the quality of content there will go downhill fast.
If these were all getting financial support from a large company, why did they all switch on more ads, newsletters, anti-adblockers, and subscription prompts at basically the same time? Must’ve been only crumbs, I think they will move on and be better off. A few less click-bait titles in the aggregators are all that is lost I suppose.
The games “news” coverage system is a-changin’ again, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Ah yes the anime treatment. Only release reboots, sequels, prequels, and poor spinoffs. For every One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100, Chainsaw Man, or Megalobox, there are way more re-do’s or milking such as Yet Another Gundam Series, a new Bleach something or another, InuYasha retread, Trigun reboot, Hunter x Hunter reboot, FMA Brotherhood, Fruits Basket, Fate/Stay universe, Evangelion remake, everything DragonBall…I could go on. It’s rather depressing.
Games are just following the curves established by other artistic mediums over the decades when laziness and greed wins, as it always does. Even The Last of Us wasn’t safe.
Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t have the best launch (lol). But some of us enjoyed the game despite its flaws. In the time since then, they’ve had nearly two years to patch the issues and add QoL....
I’m glad I’ve barely started it even though it’s been in my library for a while. Hopefully this is much closer to their vision. Looking forward to Thursday!
Thats what Im doing. I heard the game patch was basically going to make it a whole new experience, and Im only 1hr in, so Im just going to start over after it drops on the 21st.
Trying to beat Spider-Man before Spider-Man 2 comes out next month. Also finally got around to Stardew Valley. I need to finish off Horizon Zero Dawn. Too many games, not enough time, the exact opposite of my childhood lol!

But now, among my 50-hour work week, helping my kids with their math homework, grocery shopping, and house chores, I’m no longer able to find enough free time to really dive into a game. I mostly play casual games that I can drop in and out of but forget about the 40hr+ games requiring commitment....
TheVerge.com called the story "ho-hum" in their review. The whole purpose of Final Fantasy has always been the story! They would have mediocre graphics for their time, mid battle systems, but the stories are what made them legendary.
Now they have great graphics, apparently a good battle system, and a so-so story? This might be unpopular: but I think they strayed from their lane and I'll be skipping this one.
I haven’t had a lot of time to do much console gaming lately but I still would love to have a “go to” mobile game that I can whip out and progress a few levels or grind a few items or knock out a battle or match or two....
