Interesting observation, but maybe it is just a coincidence since I am not aware these numbers appearing anywhere? Found this reddit thread that talks about same thing.

Here’s an interview with controller′s designer that explains the meaning behind symbols. I think number theory is just a coincidence since I think it would be mentioned in this interview as well.

Other game companies at the time assigned alphabet letters or colors to the buttons. We wanted something simple to remember, which is why we went with icons or symbols, and I came up with the triangle-circle-X-square combination immediately afterward. I gave each symbol a meaning and a color. The triangle refers to viewpoint; I had it represent one’s head or direction and made it green. Square refers to a piece of paper; I had it represent menus or documents and made it pink. The circle and X represent ‘yes’ or ‘no’ decision-making and I made them red and blue respectively. People thought those colors were mixed up, and I had to reinforce to management that that’s what I wanted.

Brilliant concept. Will check it out later, hope it’s good.

In 2021, a weekly podcast began, hosted by Katie Puckrik and Tom Fordyce, entitled We Didn’t Start the Fire. Each week they examine a subject mentioned in the Billy Joel song, in lyric order, and discuss its importance and cultural significance with an expert guest.

No point in keeping 2 similar communities, especially if they are on same instance.

OfficerBribe, to privacy in Response from Reddit regarding GDPR violation

I do not see where the violation can be if all this data sharing / selling has been explained by reddit and only info that is shared are your posts and comments, not your mail address or IP address.

Why would you even consider that platform where you publicly post things would not be able to do something with that info. Anyone being able to read this comment is also a violation?

OfficerBribe, to upliftingnews in Texas Girl Born in Jail Heading to Harvard After Graduating at the Top of Her Class

Good for her, but it’s not like she spent her childhood in jail. Useless article in my opinion, without any details. Maybe she had a perfect childhood.

OfficerBribe, to lemmyshitpost in For those thinking of going back to reddit. Gaze upon this comment section and reconsider.

All I see is cherry picking random dumb comment thread and trying to spin it as if it defines the whole use base / experience and thinking Lemmy is used by the most sophisticated intellectuals.

OfficerBribe, to games in The voice actor behind "PEGI 18" says he was paid just €200

It’s couple words that could have been said by anyone with nice voice and good diction. I’m probably not such person, but if you would pick 100 random people, you would get someone who could do a good job for this kind of quick announcement.

Most internal employees would even do this for free. One time payment of 200 eur seems fair.

OfficerBribe, to games in The voice actor behind "PEGI 18" says he was paid just €200

I suppose some people expect you should get royalties every time your voice appears anywhere so in their eyes he should be a millionaire from this gig or something ridiculous like that.

OfficerBribe, to lemmyshitpost in Fact

It’s not really a problem that can be solved though. Should Taylor Swift’s team earn 2x more than Kanye’s? They possibly already earn above average what one usually would by supporting someone else.

She is obviously not going to refuse what people are willing to pay for her. Earnings for world famous musicians and actors always has and will be ridiculous.

It’s a cool video, but I wouldn’t call it a parody

OfficerBribe, to games in What's up with Epic Games?

Steam and GOG are simply better platforms overall. If you really care about being DRM free and owning your games you go GOG route, otherwise Steam is the king. Epic does not even have a review system.

Epic however is the best source of free games on PC. A lot of the latest games I have played have been from Epic giveaways. Right now they have Outer Worlds and yesterday it was Ghostwire: Tokyo, both of these games I played few months ago after purchasing them through Humble Bundle.

Will I ever buy a game on Epic? Probably not, I prefer Steam, but those that simply refuse to redeem freebies and install their launcher while shouting things like it being spyware are weird.

OfficerBribe, to games in The Outer Worlds: Base Game | Free on Epic Game

If you have heard bad things about this edition performance wise, it’s in the past. Played it around 1 or 2 months ago and had no issues whatsoever.

Game itself is quite good. Liked Fallout better, but had fun with this one as well. Combat might get a bit dull after a while, but everything else was alright. Main story was solid, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking, same goes for side missions and DLCs. World / atmosphere was really cool, companions and dialog options were a lot of fun. You can take the usual evil/good path and slightly change the world (available missions) around you.
