Sestren,

11 out of 24… I would have done better just clicking randomly

Sestren,

These things were NEVER fucking left open at the park near me. Could wait there the entire day and the same fucking kid would be using it the entire time, completely oblivious to your attempts to get him to move.

I swear, I probably only touched the thing once when i was a child. I came back with my daughter a few years ago and nobody was giving it a second glance. Used my kid as an excuse to finally get to play with the thing…

Sestren,

It’s called a quick start. It’s explained in the karl jobst video that someone linked in another comment. Basically just moving the camera in a small few frame window before the scene loads.

Sestren,

It’s effectively non-functional. “Absolute shit” is overselling it.

I know I could just use the proton version and get decent performance, but the fact that it has a native client that just doesn’t work kind of killed my expectations for the future. It’s one thing if the issues were new, but the map bug was reported over 4 years ago…

Sestren,

Someone needs to get these seniors into Smash Bros. Then when one of them tries to organize a local tournament we can see “Nintendo Shuts Down Senior Citizen Video Game Tournament” as a followup headline. 🍿

Sestren,

Old mmos had adventure and discovery. The current state of the internet doesn’t allow for adventure and discovery in an online multi-player game.

With Asheron’s Call we had Maggie The Jackcat and the VN boards, and that was it. You couldn’t just look up the best path across the obsidian wastes to Ayan Baqur and find a youtube video explaining all of the danger points and farming areas. You had to just do it yourself or communicate with real people in real time to figure things out.

That magic is gone and it’s never coming back… and it sucks 😕

AC was clearly better than EQ though 👍
