but have no idea how I should go about playing games on Linux

What distro?

Do you know what graphics card you’re using?

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world)

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can’t count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with...

Best sidequests in the Fallout games?

I’m doing a playthrough of 3, New Vegas, and 4. Mostly focused on beating the main quests and the DLCs but I want to make sure I hit the best side quests on the way. I’m making my push to finish 3 right now and I’ve finished the DLC, Oasis, cannibals, vampires, ant quest, the other ant quest, and a bunch of stuff I’m...

Have you looked through PCGamingWiki?

Are you playing it on disc by any chance? I know that I couldn’t get it working due to “Games for Windows Live”. I had to purchase it a second time on Steam before it worked (since they removed GFWL from the Steam and GOG versions).

If ranked competitive sex is a thing, then the number one in the scene must be Lisa Sparks for sleeping with 919 men in one day.

What are some hidden indie gems nobody knows about?

Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.

  • To The Moon: Absolutely heart breaking.
  • Tales of Maj’Eyal: An incredible rogue-like with 30+ classes and God knows how many achievements.
  • Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead: Apocalyptic rogue-like. Zombies, bandits, aliens and Lovecraft shit. Want to raid a dojo? Learn Judo from a book and proceed to race around town on a pair of rollerblades practicing on the undead? Feel free.

Especially with a decent modpack. Specifically, one that comes with Tinker’s Construct.

I haven’t played the games I’m about to recommend.

  1. Sengoku Dynasty - store.steampowered.com/app/…/Sengoku_Dynasty
  2. Medieval Dynasty - store.steampowered.com/app/…/Medieval_Dynasty

Is it Life Simulator type games you’re interested in? Or just specifically those concerning mining, smithing, and forging?

How about Planet Crafter? You crash land on a planet and you have to terraform the planet using the materials you gather.

There’s also Occupy Mars. This is more realistic. It’s just that there’s one aspect of it that I think you might love.

Using a drill, crane and vehicle to break down boulders for example.

spoilerUnfortunately you don’t really get to witness the shadow curse lifting, at least not in any way that provides content, gameplay, or exploration. The most you get is a cutscene when transitioning from the end of Act 2, to the beginning of Act 3. On an unrelated note. You can’t return to Act 1 or Act 2 locations once you begin Act 3. Make sure you head to the mountains and do the content there before you leave.
