I can’t play the game because the text is tiny and there is no text size settings.

My favourite racing game of all time. Too bad the franchise was ruined by EA.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Sorry about that.

For some reason Battletoads wasn’t popular/known in my region. For fighting games, we were into Double Dragon and Kunio Kun (River City).

Definitely Balloon Fight. The control scheme is perfect. Two player coop. Simple but fun, and with the right challenge.

I wish it had more variety in the level design.

What are your NES favourites?

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Yeah. I want to highlight some games that are under-appreciated. If I add SMB/Zelda/Metroid etc then there would be less room for less known games.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I love same-screen coop games. Too bad they aren’t popular any more after the 8-bit and 16-bit era.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I did. Just not enough room for too many good NES games.

This one is just called Pinball, it is a first-party Nintendo game.

I love NES pinball. I do not like pinball games with realistic physics (too fast and too difficult). This one feels more like a game instead of a real pinball machine. Also, this one has a bonus stage with Mario in it.

I also like how clear and bright the visuals are. Too many newer pinball games are cluttered and flashy.

Space Cadet and NES pinball are my favourite video pinball games of all time.

Kid Icarus is a little too difficult for me, but I think I should try again and see if I can get better.

I only played TMNT on SNES, perhaps I should try the NES one.

I never tried Paperboy, is it good?

cloudless,

Wonderful time with coop (and when I had friends to coop with).

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Top Gun is memorable in a frustrating way.

I enjoyed Blades of Steel too. But I like Ice Hockey better overall, mainly because they added weight/power to different player types. That might be the first sports game having such system.

I am not going to watch the video. But in the thumbnail, I prefer the 1996 version.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Thanks. I followed your suggestion and watched the video. It is indeed a great improvement. Too bad the youtuber made a poor thumbnail.

I don’t agree that the graphics look dated at all. In fact I think it is one of the best looking games even now.

Overly dramatic and cheesy in some places.

Completely agree with “your playthrough will actually feel like YOUR playthrough”. Most choices have consequences, unlike Telltale games.

The title screen (Chloe) is a touch of genius.

Now you’ve reminded me to start my second run.

Yeah but there is only one person on the planet who wants to call it X.

Dragon Quest XI - I am a huge fan of the 8-bit and 16-bit DQ games. But I just couldn’t get into DQ11.The atrocious music probably didn’t help.

Assassin’s Creed Origins the gameplay started getting repetitive very quickly. Even though I liked the ancient Egyptian settings and the beautiful graphics, I couldn’t follow the nonsensical plot.

Burnout Paradise - this game is unplayable. You have to either look at the mini-map the entire time, or memorize the map.

@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I would highly recommend that you give Super Mario Galaxy a try. Just the soundtrack alone is worth the time.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Uncharted made me feel like being the protagonist of a movie (something like Indiana Jones). The production value was much higher than other games at the time.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

FF6 is my favourite JRPG of all time. I like it more than Chrono Trigger. I loved the characters and the soundtrack.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

The things that you dislike about Skyrim are the things that I enjoy.

I like the simple combat. I couldn’t get into most other action RPGs because of complex combo/quick reflex based combat.

The open world size is perfect for me. I love finding new attractions everywhere.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

EA will probably make it a p2w title filled with loot boxes and micro-transactions.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Someone is going to make the pointy tits mod.

Anything you download from unknown sites can be risky. You don’t even have to run the file in order to start the infection.

For me, I prefer Steam because of Steam Link, which allows me to play Steam games remotely on my phone.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I usually have problem with controller settings when playing external games via Steam Link.

The Lift is nearly twice as heavy as the MX according to the specs on Amazon. Do you find it too heavy?

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I would highly recommend the Logitech Ergo trackball for non gaming use.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Thanks. It is actually for my wife. She finds the MX too big for her hand, so she is considering to replace it with the Lift.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

Yeah keep that mindset and follow Blockbuster’s fate.

cloudless,
@cloudless@feddit.uk avatar

I hope the cat in the movie will look more natural than the one in the game.

In the game, the animation looks great. I’m sure they took a lot of effort with the motion capture.

But there is something weird about the cat’s face. It just doesn’t look like a cat, no realistically, not cartoonish either. Perhaps some adjustment in the facial modelling will help.

I don’t see any issue having individual post for each review (article).

This is big gaming news, so it makes sense to have more posts.

Everyone talks about Vampire Survivors. But I like Hololive better, this game deserves more appreciation.

Really cool to see updates for a game released over 7 years ago.
