Looking for some Android apps

Having used iOS my entire life, the switch to GrapheneOS will be a big change. I have learned over the past year about Android, GrapheneOS, and apps to use. I managed to find most of the apps I was looking for, but there are some I struggled with. I had trouble finding privacy respecting, open source apps for the following...

jinwk00,

Iirc that’s the only Android Torrent client that could bound to specific network connection (just like qBittorrent on desktop systems)

jinwk00,

Aw shucks, the porter moved on from Lineage to develop more on e/os

Any alternative custom ROMs that are generally considered complete Google-free other than those 2?

jinwk00,

Should I be concerned if I am not going to be installing Google Apps (or gapps) or microG?

jinwk00,

Not really dislike, but was wondering if there were any better choices

jinwk00,

Thanks, looks promising but unfortunately unavailable

jinwk00,

At least Magic Earth has good policy though, no?

jinwk00,

Do you think its worth waiting until Pixel “9” becomes available? I’m switching out on July since that’s when my installment is over + getting out of this hell hole S21FE

jinwk00,

Ye T-Mobile is offering Pixel 8 Pro for free if I do 24 month installment but that isn’t worth sacrificing for

That’s why I was looking at Nothing Phone 2 which is on sale, unlocked too, for double the storage as well (I already used up 90% of my 128GB) at $550

Heard community is growing but I was uncertain

jinwk00,

Lastly do you think 8 Pro refurbs are fine for $700? Main concern is lack of RAM from S21FE which apps closed itself very frequently as soon as I switch from one to the other

jinwk00,

I used Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro/K20 Pro before, I can get used to recovery and flashing stuff

jinwk00,

Not really anti-Pixel, just that pricing could be better

But I found some used ones in sale, thanks though

jinwk00,

uBlock Origin on Mull browser (if not Firefox), Mullvad DNS or NextDNS for “Private DNS” (its DNS-over-HTTPS iirc) if you are not rooted

jinwk00,

It may be possible they are using something similar to Have I Been Pwned

jinwk00,

Only thing I know is that you could enable the “limit sharing of data” but that’s about it

jinwk00,

Fallout 1 and 2 should definitely run on Linux even with some patches

BG1&2 I heard some success stories but haven’t tried myself
