jumjummy,

Sure, but there are only 4 options when November comes: 1) vote for Biden, 2) vote for Trump, 3) vote 3rd party, or 4) don’t vote.

Due to how the US system works, options 2-4 only help Trump, so unless you want a Trump presidency, only option 1 is valid.

Anything else is just at best a pipe dream, or at worst, direct support for someone who will become a dictator.

jumjummy,

And unfortunately it’s mostly younger voters, who as a group BARELY vote.

jumjummy,

With that statement we can ignore everything you say. If you don’t take part in the voting process you don’t have a voice and your opinion doesn’t matter.

China wants to rid itself of Western tech by 2027 -- outlines domestic alternatives in 'Document 79' (www.tomshardware.com)

The WSJ reports that China is on an extensive push to drive out Western tech companies from the country and replace them with domestic alternatives. China reportedly started its domestic expansion in 2022 with a highly secretive “Document 79,” an initiative focused on deleting Western tech companies from the country. Since...

jumjummy,

As much as I’d like to see broader reforms around social media, this is one of the bigger reasons of “why focus on TikTok”. Ban or force a sale.

There should also be some serious taxes on any US tech company leveraging China for outsourcing, so much so that all cost saving for cheaper labor are wiped out completely.

jumjummy,

No, if he wins, the blame will be on people like you. Naive or a Russian shill.

196 Stands with Palestine, but those of you in the US should still vote in the general election.

I’ve been seeing a lot of anti-voting sentiment going around. Can’t believe I have to say this, but you need to vote. Not only is there more to the election than just the president. (State policy, Senate, house), but not voting is not an act of protest. C’mon guys

jumjummy,

In the realities of the US electoral system, a vote for a third party is akin to a vote for Trump. Twist and spin all you want, but that’s reality.

Anyone who argues this is either naive, or a disinformation Russian asset.

jumjummy,

“Biden is hardly better”. What an idiotic take. A flaming bag of crap is terrible, and your opinion here is “hardly any better”.

jumjummy,

Politicians like Putin? You know the source of all this is Putin himself. He is certainly mentally hill [sic]

Biden uses feisty State of the Union to contrast with Trump, sell voters on a second term (apnews.com)

That was one of the more interesting SOTU addresses I’ve seen. Personally, I think he said most of the things that needed to be said, and he said them reasonably well. I’m sure he’s going to get some flack for attacking Trump directly (though not by name), but I was frankly glad to see it. Doing otherwise makes it seem...

jumjummy,

That’s the Republican way of thinking for sure. “Oh, it didn’t personally impact me? I don’t care.”

You’re a fool if you think Trump would be anything but catastrophic for the world. Naive or a shill.

jumjummy,

Well, they certainly can define “woke”, but they probably know they can’t fully say the quiet part out loud.

To them, the existence of gay and trans people is “woke”. Teaching about inequality or systemic racism is “woke”. Heck, I’m sure women’s rights and related healthcare is also “woke” to them.

jumjummy,

But that vagueness is the entire point to ruffle the feathers of their base and to get them angry at something/anything.

This is just another boogeyman for the GOP leadership to distract their base from any real issues.

Heck, do you hear anything about CRT anymore? Like a school of fish, the entire talking point shifted to “woke” and anti-trans.
