lautan,

How is this getting upvoted? Totally ridiculous statement.

lautan,

Walmart sells Classico pasta sauce for $2.97 in my area or 4/$10. Or I could go to zerhs and buy 1 for $7.99…

Ridiculous markup.

Canadian Home Prices "Need" To Be High To Pay For Retirements: PM - Better Dwelling (betterdwelling.com)

Canadian real estate prices have surged in almost every market, with a typical home price doubling in many regions. A median household in major cities like Toronto and Vancouver would need to save over 20 years for just the down payment, more than 3x the historic average. Seems absurd? The outlandish scenario was apparently a...

lautan,

If you need to have a home to afford to retire;

And most young people will never own a home;

How do we expect this to play out?

lautan,

I think the argument is to deter other immigrants from committing such crimes.

lautan,

Pretty much. Is there an alternative?

lautan,

100%. They’ll eventually turn evil. I self-host as much as I can.

Hundreds of Indian students in Canada face deportation, protest against new rule (www.indiatoday.in)

In Prince Edward Island, a province in Canada, hundreds of Indian students are facing deportation after it changed its provincial immigration rules. Around 300 students are protesting and have threatened to go on a hunger strike if the Canadian province doesn’t review its latest immigration policy.

lautan,

Why? They were remote workers

lautan,

I would say that’s not Canada Post’s responsibility.

I am a former immigration minister. Unsustainable population increases won't solve Canada's underlying issues - The Hub (thehub.ca)

The bottom line is that immigrants, students, and workers chose Canada over centuries because we sustained high levels of growth and high standards of living. Canada’s declining affluence over the past decade undermines this pull factor.

lautan,

I don’t like the title but I thought it made some decent points for discussion.

lautan,

Here’s an article about the same guy getting released in 2014: thespec.com/…/article_589b5b81-454f-5beb-91be-295…

Here’s another article about him getting arrested again shortly after that: cbc.ca/…/convicted-sex-offender-keith-constantin-…

Here’s another article about him getting released again a year later: yorkregion.com/…/article_37eaeef3-e3ec-5110-bc53-…

Obviously he got arrested again at least once at some point because here we are talking about him getting released again.

Also from that 2nd article: “He was also convicted in 2000 of sexually assaulting a young boy and of sexually assaulting a 45-year-old blind woman in separate incidents.” So this goes back even father than I what I can find just on google. Serial rapist catch-and-release for over two decades. Canada’s legal system is a joke.
