Yes! Custom ones I ordered on FKCaps. I may have put them hastily, in the wrong orientation and place but since I can’t read it (yet… another project!) it does not bother me haha
It depends on the layer. I have volume, screen brightness, tab/shift tab (pair it with ctrl/cmd and this is very versatile), command left/right (browser history), ctrl left/right (macos virtual desktops), undo/redo, scroll up/down, page up/down. Since it can also act as a normal switch, I put play/pause on it when it controls the volume, and mouse click when it scrolls.
You could map them to mouse movement too quite easily!
The convex caps are awesome ; I felt uneasy with concave ones before, now my thumbs are lying on plastic cushions. They are not textured and allow your thumbs to glide on them.
Thanks! They were like 45€ without shipping, and I got 36 (the thumb ones are concave and I prefer convex caps). That makes the caps more expensive than a MBK legends set but it’s 100% your own, which makes it worth it to me.
This is so stupid, but I love it so much. 🤣 I’m tempted to give it a try, but I’m worried that once I get used to mechanical switches on my garage door opener - I’ll need them throughout the rest of the house too.
Having said that I would have no trouble at all making a version of this that’s waterproof! For that though I’d make a PCB and use my own magnetic key switches (Void Switch)…
When I made that keyboard for Chyros I asked him if he wanted it to be waterproof and he said no so I never bothered but it’s not very difficult to do such a thing when your entire keyboard is contactless.
The “key” is to use waterproof connectors or just solder the wires directly to the PCB. Then you just coat the whole thing in silicone sealant (or similar e.g. seal it with epoxy, Flex Seal, etc). The chips don’t care and hall effect sensors will still work just fine through any non-ferromagnetic coating (e.g. any plastic or hydrocarbon-based material).
