Not sure where you live, but in Ontario, Canada, our geese and squirrels are awake all year round! More concerning, though, is that they are having babies too early in the year. We had reports of goslings when there was still ice on bodies of water. Never good!
I did notice regular houseflies outside over a week ago, which seems… really early.
