He also is “stepping away” for a while which I guess is code for “CAA can’t save me” so I guess in six months we get another conservative podcaster on X, and a new KiwiFarms thread for Hershel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm.
I have a pillow sack full of nickels at this point, which leads me to think we have a serious problem with streaming/youtubing as a career.
I don’t think streamers and video creators are more likely to be sex pests. You’re just more likely to hear about a sex pest if their career involves trying to be seen by as many people as possible.
Nickmercs has always been a piece of shit. I feel like he's only ever stepped up to bat for his friends when they've actually done some heinous shit, so seeing his defense of Doc only further confirms my belief that he did it.
Nickmercs' support is an unexpected canary in this coal mine.
It’s like when people that cheat on others in their relationships start accusing their partners of cheating or have major trust issues because of their guilt (or whatever it is). And by that same logic I conclude that Nickmercs is a pedo (if he can do it with the LGBTQ community without evidence then he wouldn’t mind me making similarly wild claims about him, right?).
NVM found it. Damn doc is getting lamer the more you learn about him. ggrecon.com/…/dr-disrespect-calls-out-bethesda-ov…Basically, Starfield mentions your pronoun after character creation and mentions that you can change your pronoun if you like. Doc then looks up someone from Starfield or something looking for their pronouns in the company website. He then says “Its all starting to make sense” in such a way that shows his disapproval of that option being in the game.
Its not some crazy event, but it just adds another thing to a pile of things that show he’s kind of a crappy person. Starfield had mentioned they didn’t want to partner with him due to the previous twitch controversy, I feel his continued actions (getting pissy over this option, that he could completely ignore) really proves Starfield’s decision was a good one.
Oh, sorry, I had the wrong guy. I was thinking of Dan Vasc, whose red-faced screaming meltdown is embedded in the article you linked. Must have gotten the names mixed up.
Let me try this again.
Why am I not surprised that the guy who turned out to be a pedo also gets upset about other people having pronouns?
I forgot about this but as soon as you said red-faced it came back to me. This “adult” became a tomato because he could choose to be referred to as he/him in a video game. I only ever saw toddlers and small children scream the way he did. So pathetic!
These shock jock types always seem to nuke themselves in the end. That guy looks like the weekly bad guy on a episode of Starsky and Hutch from the 70’s

You’re not wrong, but that’s also just a persona he plays, the hair and mustache are both fake. I don’t know how close the persona is to the real person, but I’m sure he’s hamming it up to some extent, just not enough to be a good person pretending.
The persona is barely fake, which is why he always rubbed me the wrong way. Like yeah a hyper macho gamer can be a funny ironic persona, but when you’re legitimately Gamer Raging TM on stream, you’re just doing the thing. Not surprised he turned out to be a piece of shit a while ago. Mildly surprised he was a pedo, though I didn’t notice his right-wing tendencies so that’s on me.
It is very game specific. Some were innovators for how they pushed the limits of technology of their time, others were held back by that same tech. That alone is a huge marker as to whether a remake will improve or hurt the games legacy.
I like remakes, in a lot of instances it’s the games I have already played, but it has been a while. Mass effect 1, Resident Evil 2-4, Demon’s Soul. Also, so many of these companies put so much money and time into new games that it’s a nice little bonus to get a remake in between those huge releases.
Uhh Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour certainly does need a remake. It takes a lot of work just to get it running correctly and even more if you want online play. Also online play is still shit, very slow and laggy with disconnects. Also, Sid Meier’s Pirates could surely use a remake as well but at least that game still runs fine.
Also also Red Alert 2 Yuri’s Revenge. The first remake was done pretty well and I thought red alert 2 wouldn’t be far behind but there’s still no news about it.
The only remakes that I really liked were Black Mesa and the MCC. Black Mesa was such an incredible tribute to Half Life.
Some, like The Witcher (1), could absolutely use an overhaul because of bad gameplay issues, time constraints or budget cuts (Xen- Half Life, etc). Most, like Skyrim…eh. they don’t really need it as long as they sent patches for stuff like 144hz and ultrawide support.
But several people also noted that the games industry goes through cycles of mass layoffs, because simply having a stable business isn’t enough for investors. Revenues must grow by a chunky margin: if they don’t, costs must be cut. Embracer’s mishandling of their business might be grotesque, but it’s business as usual nonetheless. “We make a shitload of money, but it doesn’t go back into the games,” one person commented. “It goes into a lot of now very wealthy peoples’ pockets, and the people who actually make the games kind of scrape by, most of the time.”
