I’ve been looking at using email aliases services, and right now I’m thinking of using Simplelogin for all my online accounts and accounts where I can change my email easily, and getting my own domain to share with people and where I can’t easily update my email. It seems like I shouldn’t use my own domain for online...

I’m at a point where I’d like to play certain games, but I dislike that they’re exclusively available on consoles and Steam for Desktop. Steam’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service raise concerns about my personal security and privacy. I’m looking for advice on how to improve my privacy while using Steam....
Every other day I see the the world turning into a cyberpunk hellscape with no privacy. I am starting to feel what’s the point of trying to claw back privavy....

I did the tests on fingerprint.com/demo/ and coveryourtracks.eff.org and they both said I have a unique fingerprint, even when I enabled privacy.resistFingerprinting to True.
themarkup.org/blacklight, I put in a few sites, including a full Reddit post URL and it reported 0 trackers. Does this site work well, are there other sites for seeing trackers on websites that work well?

Let me know if this isn’t relevant to privacy-minded people but it seems on topic considering the org AND not getting caught up in honeypots for your own security.
The most common argument used in defense of mass surveillance is ‘If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear’. Try saying that to women in the US states where abortion has suddenly become illegal. Say it to investigative journalists in authoritarian countries. Saying ‘I have nothing to hide’ means you stop...
Session messenger android client currently feels unpolished while simplex seems to require it to run in the background for instant notifications. Is there an alternative that is better than those 2?
In recent weeks, I’ve noticed a rise in censorship regarding SMS communication that’s not being discussed. At all. I’m concerned that it may become a slippery slope that eventually effects us all. I don’t have any dramatic, prose-ridden introduction this week. Just some news, facts, and observations I wanted to share. So...
Our garage flooded last night (not the first time) and so I want to install some water sensors in the garage and basement. There's dumb ones that look similar to a smoke detector, but all they do is make noise, which I'm willing to bet I won't hear since I can barely hear the smoke detector in the kitchen when I'm upstairs....
A friend of mine is helping me with setting up a Linux-based homebrew security system set up. He’s currently using Wyze cameras, but they are faulty and have ads on them, so I’d like to find something more open-source/closed system that I can control completely. Any recommendations or pointers in the right direction would be...
I wanna know if MATRIX recipients know my IP, and more globally what the recipients know about me (how the matrix protocol works). THX

Is the Google Services Framework ID (GSF ID) visible and accessible to all apps downloaded on mobile device running on Android 10 or higher? Or is the GSF ID only visible and accessible to privileged apps on the device?
I don’t know if this is the correct community to post this. I have a Smart TV from a Greek manufacturer named TurboX. Not Android TV, Smart TV. This means that it has Internet access, has some pre-installed apps, but I can’t install any other apps on it. The menus thankfully don’t have any ads. However, the Youtube app...
