‘No one will hold Israel accountable’ as it targets medics in south Lebanon

On March 26, a clear, brisk night, Abdullah Sharif Atwi, Abdulrahman al-Shaar, Ahmad al-Shaar, Baraa Abu Qais, Hussein al-Shaar, Muhammad al-Farouq Atwi and Muhammad Ragheed Hammoud were in the second-floor hangout.

The Israeli drones hovered overhead, they had been going all day and now their sound was fading almost into the background.

The group was in high spirits, taking videos of themselves and joking about.

About half an hour after midnight, just into March 27, Israel hit the centre with an air strike, levelling the two-storey building.

Israel killed a total of 17 people in three different towns just that day, 10 of them medical workers.

They are very unlucky that all those terrorist groups start popping up every time the israeli army goes on a friendly company excursion to a neighboring country.

This is not new for Israel.

Back when Israel illegally invaded Lebanon years ago, the brother of a good friend of mine was a doctor in the occupied zone.

When the Israelis had a prisoner who needed treatment, they would show up at his house in the middle of the night, tell him if he resisted he would be shot, hauled him off to treat some poor bastard who had the bad luck to be in Israeli custody, then dump him at the side of the road when they were done with him.

This happened REGULARLY, and my friend’s brother wasn’t the only one.

Israel commits war crimes, regularly, which is why there are so many UN resolutions against them.

If y’all really gave a shit, you’d start blaming the other 191 UN countries not giving a shit, and stop focusing on GenoJoe.

The United States is the largest weapon supplier in the world. Naturally, that would be the case.

Biden cannot stop the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on military aid to Israel without Congressional involvement. The MOU is an executive agreement that outlines the terms of military aid, but the actual allocation of funds requires Congressional approval through the budget and appropriations process. While the President can influence and propose changes, ultimately, Congress controls the money and must approve any significant alterations to the agreed-upon aid.

That said, he supports Israel much more than I would personally prefer him to.

He can. Leahy law forbids export of weapons to countries comitting war crimes. Which is why Biden is a fervent denier of israeli war crimes.

Oh that’s cool. The UN also thinks that israel is committing war crimes. And the UN has a few countries that are members of it.

Something about the ICC saying that israel is starving the population of Gaza and must withdraw from Rafah immediately. From some dude with a fake wig. Must not be important.

Yes many are recognizing Palestine and countries are sanctioning israel.

This does not somehow absolve the US from its role as the most critical supporter of israel committing Genocide.

Which countries have actually imposed a sanction vs simply removing their ambassadors?

I know many EU countries are still “thinking” about it.

The Maldives is banning all israeli tourists it’s on the front page right now. Turkey banned all trade. And that’s from the top of my head. There’s many more.
