The Paradox one looks garbage though, and given their history with DLC I don’t have much hope for it. Paralives looks interesting but the development is glacial to the point where by the time it’s out I’ll be in a retirement home if not seven feet under.
On the other hand, I also have no hope Sims 5 won’t be insanely predatory and anti-consumer. Sigh.
The Israeli government has failed to comply with at least one measure in the legally binding order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in South Africa’s genocide case, Human Rights Watch said today. Penny’s Big Breakaway is a 3D platformer developed by the team behind Sonic Mania. Really looking forward to playing this one, John from Digital Foundry had nothing but glowing praise for it.

Personally, it’s Faith from Farcry 5 for me. Uninteresting dialog that can be summed up to “I was bullied once” and that’s it. Literally every other character is so much more interesting. Jacob gives you a sequence where you run through a gulag which he then uses against you, John tries to kill you and is openly hateful...
That’s a tricky one, but if I had to pick, maybe Ashley from Mass Effect. She’s very insubordinate and disrespectful towards you, I hate her speciesism and (fittingly enough) she’s a Bible thumping Christian, whenever she opens her mouth I wish I could eject her through the airlock. It doesn’t help that you can’t deny her joining the team or even kick her out, safe to say that whenever I get to Virmire I always kill her without even thinking twice.
This is exciting! A gaming handheld from a great open source hardware company that makes SBCs like the RP5. It looks to have all the quality features and combines the best of all the handhelds I’ve seen. This has me really excited....
This seems like a major trend with modern management games. Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, Cities Skylines… They all have great creative features but they all lack depth and challenge their predecessors had.
GOG Galaxy is such a massive letdown. The stores plugins are barebones and they barely work, they keep disconnecting all the time, not to mention they didn’t deliver most of what was promised (cross launcher chats when?).
Honestly? I’d like to see a second videogame crash. Kill off most of the major publishers, start over from scratch… Ain’t happening, but sometimes I wish.
Say what you want, but not having your entire party and every NPC you meet thirsting to gobble your dick the moment you meet feels like a positive to me.

Yikes. I knew EGS wasn’t good for business, but those numbers are awful, no wonder most devs either don’t bother with Epic or only put their games in the store when they get an overflowing bag of cash.
Nah man, that’s just entitlement. Wanting your $50 game to work well when you buy it is peak entitlement, you should be happy your game is running at 10fps with your 4080 RTX.
I’m looking for a single player game, first person or third person, but something more action or role-play oriented. Not particularly a fan of turn based combat...
I know you’ve said you don’t want Skyrim, but the first thing that comes to mind is Oblivion, I can’t think of a more generic, stereotypical fantasy RPG than that game.
In fact it makes me sad considering they retconned the lore of Cyrodil to a super generic LOTR fantasy land.
I don’t always play female characters, but I can think of a few reasons:
With rare exceptions I just prefer how the female characters look, be it prettier or cuter, they usually have way better character customization than the male counterparts.
Female clothing and equipment in games also just look more stylish and flamboyant, especially in Japanese ones.
And honestly I just like playing as someone different from me, if I can’t choose to be an alien or whatever, then the next best thing is a woman.
Israel planned to launch a preemptive strike against Hezbollah on October 11 which was narrowly averted due to intervention from U.S. President Joe Biden, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday....
I had completely forgotten about this. Such an interesting idea, especially considering Fallout is so “American”, I wonder if it’ll work out and still feel like Fallout or just a derivative.
It’s just another round of excuses for the lackluster state of modern RPGs, and I don’t even think BG3 is that good, it’s just that the bar is so fucking low that something decent like BG3 gets touted as the best RPG in years, because in truth it sadly is.
Nowhere near as good as the old Bioware and Black Isle CRPGs, and if it’s going to call itself Baldur’s Gate then I’m going to hold it to those standards like it or not. It’s a fine game, but it’s ridiculously and disproportionately overrated by both the media and players alike, especially when it looks, plays and feels nothing like the original games that it claims to be a sequel to.
No, I’ve played it alright, just didn’t finish it. If anything it’s you who probably never played Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 or, in fact, none of the CRPGs of old, because if you did you’d likely agree with me instead of calling me a contrarian.
Not surprisingly, it didn’t gain much traction - I never got the impression Beths. was happy with FNV’s reception (good and bad).
Getting absolutely humiliated by Obisidian’s spin off game being miles better than their mainline games couldn’t possibly have been the reason, right? /s
I agree with you, they’re fine the way they are. But if they want to splurge on a new version, then why not, you know? I wouldn’t mind seeing the cast of the game rendered in full 3D. The one Falcom game (two really) that I think actually needs a remake is Ys 1 and 2, those games are just horribly dated by modern standards.
