Deselecting a card without casting it can be a little tricky, but you can usually tap another card or something without causing an issue.

Yes, once you get used to it it is functional, but it is unintuitive and requires getting used to.

Does that include protected classes? For example: can they exclude minorities?

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Women invading male safe spaces under the guise of glass ceilings or whatever was extremely toxic for men, it’s as if men started barging into women’s bathrooms

So the class wasn’t a “men only” class, it just was a class women generally weren’t interested in. And a woman deciding she is interested was the same as men barging into women’s bathrooms.

Jfc, who are the snowflakes again?

LttP is the origin of the iconic gameplay style. My preference is Links Awakening which refined it a bit and introduced some fun characters. I was happy with the version on the Switch.

Phantom Hourglass was a lot of fun, it really took advantage of what the DS can do.

My wife hated having to return to the temple repeatedly, but I enjoyed revisiting the same area and seeing the shortcuts I can take with my new items.

Also, freely drawing notes on the map was awesome.

Do they realize that preventing pregnancy isn’t the only reason people use birth control?

They don’t care

Are they planning on making medical exceptions?

No.

Source: see abortion bans. Women with unviable pregnancies that will kill them can’t get abortions. Control is the entire point.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

We need to remind people that “rent seeking behaviour” is a derogatory term.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Meh, that’s the thing about choice. If they and their partner want to live that way they can choose to do so, as long as they aren’t trying to force others to also live that way.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

This sounds like a failure on Democrats to get information out.

Yes, we all know Republicans like to keep people ignorant, but this should be a slam dunk informational campaign for the Democrats: “here is a case where a woman needed and really should have been given an abortion. She was denied. Here is where you can find the court case.”

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Because they don’t even know it’s a problem. That is the conclusion of the survey. I feel like this is a prime opportunity for an information campaign:
“This woman has an entropic pregnancy”
Clip of a doctor briefly explaining what an entropic pregnancy is and how they are always unviable.
“She was denied an abortion in Texas and would have died if she did not go to a different state that still allows abortions. Here is where you can read the court case.”

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Then they have been shouting about it in the wrong places if 80% of Republican supporting women have no idea. Run some ads in more visible spaces.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

I agree with what you are saying but you are confusing Republicans for Conservatives. I believe it is possible for a reasonable Conservative to exist, that has different priorities than Liberals but has coherent arguments and the ability to work with others. I don’t believe a reasonable Conservative could support the Republicans.

In a reasonable country a reasonable Conservative would probably look a lot like Joe Biden.

Could the Federation defeat Star Wars' Empire in an all-out war?

Would a Federation warship like the Defiant out gun a Star Wars Star Destroyer? Who has a bigger armada? Who has the tactical advantage? Don’t forget that The Federation includes the Klingons, who love warfare and have fast, agile, heavily armed ships, with cloaking devices, and the Vulcans with superior logic and tactical...

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Even if hyperdrives are faster, SW ships have no shields. As long as the planet they are wanting to blow up has teleporter stations they can just start beaming officers into space. It takes time to charge the planet killing laser.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

The Empire doesn’t have shield technology. I don’t know if their weapons could penetrate shields, but they definitely have no defence against a teleporter. Yes, their fleet could get to any target faster than the UFP, but as long as the target has a teleporter system they can just teleport the commander into space.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Fair point. I didn’t remember seeing shields in space battles when watching SW, but forgot about that.

Why does it have to be more of the same shit that everyone hates now?

If everyone hated it it wouldn’t sell. There’s plenty of other things being made as well, I haven’t played Sands of Time but I would guess the God of War reboot is a similar genre.

If I were you I’d focus on the word “it” in the sentence you are referring to.

No single drop of rain believes it is responsible for the flood.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world)

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I assume if you ever encounter someone claiming people who support Trump aren’t Christians you go on about “No True Scotsman” as well?

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

“the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!”

So has never endorsed the Bible until he was selling one?

CileTheSane,

People forcing them all into one box enable the fascist ones. Anytime someone says “that’s fascism and not Christianity” they’re met with screeches of “nO tRuE sCoTsMaN!”

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

Well over 50% of Americans identify as Christian or Catholic. Trump did not receive 50% of the popular vote. Even if every person who voted for Trump identified as Christian, there is still a large percentage of Christians that did not.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

None of that explains how Christians who say “Fascism is bad” are enabling fascists.

A great example of someone avoiding the topic.

On one side you have people saying “The existence of this is causing people to die, we should get rid of it.”
On the other side you have people responding “technically this thing isn’t killing anyone. It the blood loss and drowning that kills them.” and refusing to engage with the actual concern here. Also, they keep insisting “bOtH sIdEs ArE tHe SaMe!”

Thank you for showing that you are completely disingenuous. Someone who actually wants to have a discussion and show a different point of view does not reply with “That is a misrepresentation and I will not elaborate any further.” A person interested in a good faith discussion would say it is a misrepresentation and then state what the alternative point of view actually is.
When people refuse to do so it’s usually because the actual point of view is indefensible, so the best they can do is refuse to define it and claim everything is a misrepresentation.

CileTheSane,
@CileTheSane@lemmy.ca avatar

It’s not that big of a difference because if people still purchase it but don’t purchase the microtransactions as you suggest, the message sent to the studio is: “People don’t mind microtransactions in games, we just need to tweak them to make them more desirable” ie. more necessary in the next game they release.
