The majority of people that heard that protest were those who travelled from around the world to see Stonehenge.
I didn’t travel to see Stonehenge and I’m hearing about it. So is everyone in this thread.

And I see that now that the stones have been shown to be undamaged the dismissal of the protest is pivoting to “the poor people taking recreational flights have had their entire trip ruined!!!”
If people become less likely to take unnecessary flights because protestors might “ruin their trip” I would consider that an absolute win.
The organization itself posting it on their site doesn’t mean people are hearing about it. Pretty sure the intent is to get the message to people who don’t visit their site regularly.
I didn’t hear about the vandalizing of private jets until people were complaining about stone henge. Considering they did not damage stone henge in any way this does seem like a much more effective way of bringing attention to the issue.

Retail is terrible even if your mental health doesn’t suck. I worked in fast food for 20 years and several times a week I’d tell my wife “I hate that fucking restaurant”. I was often stressed and burned out, was driven to therapy twice… I work in an office now and it is so much more relaxing.
Time flows strangely around them: You’ll get trapped in a conversation for 30 minutes, but when you look at the clock only 5 minutes have passed.

Just like how “there will be exceptions for unviable pregnancies” no amount of direct video evidence of abuse will be enough to justify for the courts to justify a divorce. If they had people’s well being and best interests in mind this wouldn’t even be proposed.
The solution seems simple: drive these ass backwards politicians out of office and don’t allow them to have any power over your lives because they are not interested in your health or well-being.
Better fix: make life difficult for the assholes pushing for these policies instead of shrugging your shoulders and saying “guess it’s their fault when everything goes to Hell.”
I was expecting a mistrial due to hung jury before the trial even started because I was expecting at least one hardcore supporter/opponent of Trump who was going to vote based on that regardless of the evidence

I just installed Linux Mint for the first time. As a life long Windows user it’s more intuitive than Windows 11, the install and setup was easier than I’ve ever had doing a fresh install off windows, and I was able to connect to my media tower (still running Windows 10) faster and with less hassle than using a Windows machine.
The only thing that was more difficult was having to look up where to find the setting in Steam for “please provide me Linux versions of games that don’t officially support it.”

My point is you are demanding proof from people, but it is impossible for them to provide proof you would find satisfactory. You just said a literal video recording would not be enough for you, so what is it you expect a Lemmy user to actually provide?
