Donjuanme,

Except Kerbal popping is rate limited by energy input, there’s not an instant of energy flow, there’s 150 seconds of energy input, each second increasing the energy, popped kernals absorb less energy allowing the unpopped ones to absorb the incoming energy to each the same state.

If you wanted them to all pop at once you’d need to put that amount of energy in all at once. Not impossible, but not going to happen with your home microwave oven

Donjuanme,

Think explainer was great if you were in for that sort of thing.

Donjuanme,

Who’s to say smaller things don’t have teeth that’ll take a bite out of you?

Donjuanme,

Beat me to it XD

Ukraine packed a Cessna-style plane with explosives, added remote controls and kamikaze’d it into a Russian drone factory 600 miles away (www.forbes.com)

In a sharp escalation of its drone campaign targeting strategic industries deep inside Russia, Ukraine seems to have fitted Cessna-style light planes with remote controls, packed them with explosives and flown at least one of them more than 600 miles to strike a Russian factory in Yelabuga, 550 miles east of Moscow....

Donjuanme,

I feel like that’s easy enough to fix with flint and some kindling/match heads.

Donjuanme,

No love for the roguelite peglin? I love pegging!

Donjuanme,

Very interesting statistical data set you have there, I’d be interested in replicating the outliers (particularly that 27 1’s die) and if it isn’t poorly shapen, don’t reveal the follow-up stats and force the “cursed die” onto special rolls/annoying people in the party. If it is poorly shaped get rid of it imo,

Donjuanme,

Do you see me jumping around from tree to tree all nimbly-bimbly? I’m a highway patrolman, and a responsible homeowner.

Donjuanme,

New path of exile patch dropped last Friday, finally got to it yesterday, sunk 6 hours to get 4 acts in (I’m pretty casual), was really enjoying my build and the new mechanics.

I received an expansion card for my Xbox s for my birthday, immediately filled it with the large games, Forza horizon 5 and Forza motorsport got played a bit last week,

(start rant) it feels like Microsoft/Forza devs entirely missed the mark when splitting the games between, “the best car simulation game you’ve ever played” and “the most fun driving game you’ve ever played”, there’s no music track, no radio, not even a radio option in Forza motorsport (far and away the better driving simulator, but really no manual transmission setting??) and the assistant is practically useless having all of 2 or 3 different things to say outside of scripted events, you have no horn, the car decal customization is non-existent (despite all of your competitors cars looking awesomely tricked out), all of your pit crew looks exactly the same (as do all of your competitors and their pit crews), you have very limited means to earn new cars & money is always seemingly tight. Meanwhile in horizon 5 they refuse to stop holding your hand, content is constantly behind gates, there are very few serious races, they constantly talk at you they somehow even knew my name and used it in voice over, everything is open world and silly and fun but nothing ever gives the feeling accomplishing anything, they throw cars and money and outfit and customization of avatar, the cars all feel very same-y, and the environments are incredible but the races and driving themselves feel meh. (End of rant)

Backpack battles is still an awesome way to wind down at the end of the day, maybe a half hour of that every night.

And the daily word puzzles, but I’ve dropped wordle because they want me to log in to see more and more (what should be basic) features, like my stats. If I can’t see my stats I’m not using your service, I will waffle and squardle.

Russia intensifies attacks on Kharkiv, draining Ukraine's air defense and civilian morale (kyivindependent.com)

Russian troops on March 27 attacked Kharkiv, killing a 59-year-old man and injuring 19 people, including four children. This was the first time since 2022 that Russian troops used a glide air bomb, reportedly a new-type UMPB D-30 munition, to strike the city....

Donjuanme,

And for those last 3 words I need the US of a to not put boots on the ground. Maybe that’s what Russia wants us to think though.

Donjuanme,

Xbox s is the only console (wait I have a switch too?) I’ve had plugged into my TV in the last decade, I’m not suffering the UI it could be improved in places, but it’s not bad.

Donjuanme,

Whatever the most recent one is, without an optical drive. It was a present from my wife and I can’t keep up with them sadly. It’s the first console with a UI (besides the switch) that I’ve had, and it really does work for what I use it for (access to games via gamepass whenever I have an hour or two)

Donjuanme,

I was dismayed after no fully rambl-o-matic last week, and seemingly none this week, but I’m okay if Yahtzee needed some time off, also curious about this seemingly more meta focused episode

Donjuanme,

Awesome! Can’t wait to see it! I’m a sucker for indie developers

Donjuanme,

I feel like there are instances where if you’re watching a video before it’s hit the algorithm there might be curiosity as to why you know about something happening…

Donjuanme,

I would be down for it if they had just accidentally banned air travel. Air travel is pretty much intentional changing of the environment when there are other methods of travel available.

Donjuanme,

Sorry about that, should’ve been clear to me it was more than the one thread they were in, but I only reported it once!

The fuck are some people’s problems…

Donjuanme,

Any overlap with them and the officials who went to Russia on the 4th of July?

Donjuanme,

I’m with you on this, and I felt you needed to know by more than just a click of my mouse, so you get a couple hundred taps of my keyboard as well.

Donjuanme,

For some reason I thought there would be comments at the bottom, and that’s why the scroll bar was so small. Nope.

Must be the longest patch notes I’ve seen by an indie Dev ever.

Donjuanme,

Burned all of my rope with the battle.net “2.0” complete with Facebook integration, rmah, “get the game for free with a years subscription to world of Warcraft” and killing deckard Cain in act 2 of D3 (along with ACT 1 being the only ACT with any love put into it, and that being the entirety of the demo, also pretty clear that’s when Activision bought blizzard)

Never played any of the sc2 expansions, never watched another blizzard tournament, never bought a wow expansion (after TBC), I lost a lot of really great memory associations, but the nostalgia isn’t worth supporting the corpse-puppet of blizzard.

Donjuanme,

Are you an ambassador or dignitary? No? Don’t worry about crap, take the same precautions you’d take when visiting any other place you’re not commonly in. The United States isn’t a hell hole, despite what libertarians like to fantasize.

Donjuanme,

I’m amazed that ryu dedicated level was beaten.

Donjuanme, (edited )

UpDog status, Angelo is 11/10 good boy.

Donjuanme,

I’m on the opposite side, I’ve not purchased any dlc and I’m very happy with my time spent with the game, also without mods I feel like there’s more than enough to keep me going (along with a dozen other AAA+quality indie games vying for my attention) I’ve long been on the fence for purchasing dlc for any of them because I already don’t have enough time to play them all.

(Factorio, satisfactory, dwarf fortress, against the storm, monster train, slay the spire, pioneer of pagonia, Mount and blade, faster than light, and Oxygen not included, with plenty more on my radar, I love rim world, and if it were the only game I undoubtedly would’ve gone into mods and dlc, but there’s not enough resources, maybe Randy will bless me with more time and money).

I love writing them reviews and saying nice things in their discussion boards, if the dlc were bundled or went on significant sale I’d snap it up in a heartbeat, but then it would loom over me for not spending more time playing it (it would loom even more if purchased at full price, and name me feel guilty for enjoying other games)

Donjuanme,

It would be much more enticing if the gameplay loop was changed, but adding more nuance to said loop does not make enough difference to justify paying what is a significant portion of a new games price.

That said, if there was a bundle with the same and all of its expansions, and someone asked me which one to get i would advise them to get the complete package, even though I’ve never experienced it myself, because I’m sure it’s worth it, but it’s not for me.

Donjuanme,

Absolutely anal acne (I believe) was the second wind Yahtzee take.

Donjuanme,

None of my homies. The idiot across the street probably will. But he isn’t down with me.

Donjuanme,

I think they’ll make a video game streaming machine.

Donjuanme,

Seems like it could just scale, why would it take hundreds of players? For the joint computing power?

Donjuanme, (edited )

Can someone invert the colors of this for me?

For those of us with fluffy voids, my brother set me up with these (I love them both)

Op or original artist if you’d like me to remove these please send me a message or reply here.

Donjuanme,

I’m not sure which I like more… All 3 are amazing.

Donjuanme,

Sorry, yours never loaded (until the next day) I was comparing the two I had and op XD

Donjuanme, (edited )

Thomas was alone.(I recommend this one up there with obra dinn)

Spec ops the line

Dlc quest

Limbo

For something quite a bit different, amnesia the dark decent.

This one might be controversial, but the original BioShock, I played it how I wanted, and >! Got the good ending!< And never felt the desire to pick it up. If you’re a completionist on the first run, and it isn’t very difficult to do (very rewarding I’d say), then there’s 0 reason to pick it up again. I felt the same about replaying BioShock infinite, but more because I just didn’t want to play it again (I felt like it had much more story to offer, and sidequests to do, but I didn’t get any of the same satisfactions from the game, first one was done and wrapped up nicely, third one was barely unraveled and I chose to read other people’s ideas of how it had ended)

Donjuanme,

I was going to write anti chamber, because I never want to play it again, but %'s 30-90 of the way through the game I was itching to start over. It had me so hooked, but then the ending just took the wind out of the sails so hard. Heck maybe 10-98% of the game had me itching to replay it.

Donjuanme,

Copying my comment from elsewhere in this thread

Donjuanme,

I feel portal could be replayed if you focused too hard on the puzzles the first time through, there were quite a few secrets worth exploring in that world, though none too deep unfortunately

Donjuanme,

Shame it’s getting review bombed. Also a shame my library is already overwhelmingly daunting.

Donjuanme,

I’m really glad they included honorable exceptions.

I would like to add rampage to the list of giant monsters, though things were pretty well scaled, it was fun to mush tiny enemies

Donjuanme,

Man, oceanographers have been shouting this for decades. And let’s just throw marine biologists/marine chemists in there as well. Ocean currents are stupidly powerful, to have them stop is scary beyond comparison. The warning temperature lifting the calcium carbonate compensation depth, literally acidifying the ocean past the point of habitability for everything but jelly fish… Good bye oxygen. It was fun hanging with y’all, break out the good stuff because you aren’t handing it down to the next generation.

Donjuanme,

Oh I absolutely agree it’s being over saturated, and too many of them don’t want to innovate anything in the genre, just to get a cut. That means the good ones are drowned in a sea of competition and innovation is even less likely to be able to be acknowledged

Donjuanme,

Alright, this is probably the largest thread I’ve seen on lemmy since the snoopoclypse, so y’all enjoy video games eh?
