There is a bit of a chain of trust, however. Instance fills with spam bots? Defed.
Spam bots start making their own instances? Go to whitelists.

And as henfredemars says, because there is no financial incentive to grow the userbase, instances can slow things right down if the spam starts.

Mike Ashley didn’t actually want a game shop, he wanted people spending £70 on each football/COD release, then buying that season’s team strip on the way out of the shop.

GreatAlbatross,
@GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk avatar

Does he also do that thing where people buy out a company using debt loaded onto the company they’re buying?

It depends on the version of atmos.

Full fat cinema atmos can scale to (iirc) 512 channels. (Things may have changed since I last was involved!)

In that case, it’s a 7.1 bed, and all the other channels are effectively coordinates in the room, and the processor steers objects between them in real time, rather than having defined tracks.

Countries toeing the line to allow CCP China to save face, while also selling defense equipment to Taiwan.

Chinese police were allowed into Australia to speak with a woman. They breached protocol and escorted her back to China (www.abc.net.au)

Chinese police hunting international corruption targets were allowed into Australia by the federal police and subsequently escorted a woman back to China for trial, in a major breach of Chinese-Australian police protocols....

I can’t see how anyone involved with allowing this isn’t complicit.
What possible reason did the police of a foreign nation need to be physically there for, other than physically removing someone?

Hopefully, someone is sitting on a root workaround, and will reveal it once the updates stop.

I’d buy a second hand one, if there was a way to use it without any meta involvement.

Interesting how Microsoft is keen for the transaction to be in their coins. I don’t play on PS, but is it a similar situation?

Absolutely, modern construction is often about not using (/spending) more than the spec requires.

Basic wood will be lower grade because it doesn’t need to be. And it will be cheaper because of that.

C16/C24 will be stronger and less knotty, and will meet a higher spec, for a price.

It was sold kinda on the cheap, but it did dig us out of a hole. (Can’t believe I’m defending the milk snatcher…)

feddit.uk doesn’t censor anything at the moment, because I accidentally broke the slur regex.

Normally, users from censored instances can still see rude words, they just get removed “in flight” if they try to post anywhere.

My solution is replacing all les/la/l’ with a vaguely sounding “ll” sound.

I get the odd scathing look.
And occasionally someone will stop the conversation, and ask me to use the correct word, fully away of the shit I’m trying to pull.

What’s the restaurant called? The tipping in CA drives me nuts, it would be nice to have a simple option in Toronto to go for!

I’ve just been looking into this in the UK (so Europe, but not EU).

You can now get split units that come pre-filled with a safer refrigerants that a DIYer is allowed to do themselves.

I would still get an electrician to do the electrical side though. 1KW constant load should definitely be on its own circuit.

I am really looking forward to playing it now.
I’ve given myself a list of “grown-up-tasks” I have to finish before I’m allowed to, however.

We do now have PTP, which has several big improvements. But it’s a lot more involved to set up.

Me too man. I had two GH kits and a RB one. Never used them, they gathered dust, then eventually they went in the bin.
They were just so bloody bulky.

I did manage to keep two GHWT guitars and the microphone, thankfully.

Video game actors speak out after union announces AI voice deal (www.videogameschronicle.com)

According to SAG AFTRA, the deal will “enable Replica to engage SAG-AFTRA members under a fair, ethical agreement to safely create and license a digital replica of their voice. Licensed voices can be used in video game development and other interactive media projects from pre-production to final release.”...

I’ve done voice acting before, and honestly, you’re right on the money.
So many people don’t even notice if the voice work in a piece of media is good/bad.
Playing one game, several of the main characters sound like they were recorded in completely different rooms.
And I’m sat here like a mug with a deadened setup, wondering why I bothered.

When that little detail is paid, I can see games absolutely jumping on the machine generated bandwagon.

Crunchyroll worked very well in the XBMC addon, before they C&D’d it for no good reason.

Exactly this. When you read about the metaverse in something like Snow Crash, it’s a place built by enthusiasts, very cheap to use, and people have the choice of DIY, or paying someone to do things for them.

In the facebook’s version, everything but connecting costs money, and it’s all done by facebook.

Philips Hue will soon require an account to use its app — here’s what that means (www.theverge.com)

According to its current privacy policy, with an account, Hue gets access to the configuration of your system to provide the right software updates to the devices. It can only use your data for marketing or share it with third parties if you provide additional consent....

The good news is, most hue bulbs can be controlled directly over zigbee now. I migrated mine a few days ago, and the trickiest part was persuading Hue to delete the bulbs so they could enter pairing mode.

    GreatAlbatross,
    @GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk avatar

You’ll need to have a zigbee radio on a HomeAssistant instance (maybe possible with other software).
And on HomeAssistant, run ZHA (or similar) with the zigbee radio.
Sorry if that’s teaching to suck eggs, just wanted to clarify.

If you’re already set up with that, it’s just a case of deleting a bulb from the Hue bridge, and searching for it using the zigbee integration. Once it’s deleted from Hue, it will go into pairing mode. You may need to power cycle the bulb if it does not appear in the search within 10s.

HASS was able to support my white/ambiance bulbs and colour bulbs without any issues. In fact, it responds faster. The only downside is that they don’t so much fade, as jump to a new value. The update frequency is about 2 times per second.

    GreatAlbatross,
    @GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk avatar

Ah, excellent! Thanks for that, I’ll definitely see if I can do it under ZHA.

And no problem, glad you got off the hub!
