I’m over tinkering with my OS. So I’m looking for a distro that “just works” out of the box for my laptop. Also I want to test an “easy” distro I can install for my grandpa....
My favourite DE has got to be Cinnamon, as much as I like KDE and XFCE, I prefer the simplicity of cinnamon where as in KDE has a bit too much of everything in the customization scene and XFCE I find a little tricky to get tiling working right....

I’m quite curious, are there many advantages to building a libre PC? Last I checked, my hardware doesn’t bombard me with ads, AI and other manifestations of enshittification. Yet.
I rely on Bitwarden (slooowly migrating from… a spreadsheet…) and am thinking of keeping a master backup to be SyncThing-synchronized across all my devices, but I’m not sure of how to secure the SyncThing-synchronized files’ local access if any one of my Windows or Android units got stolen and somehow cracked into or...
If someone were to pinch a password through a phishing site or a key logger they would still need to unlock your .kbdx file. The way I see it, if an attacker has cracked your database, you already screwed up 20 steps ago. (Sharing your .kbdx, using a weak password for it, not changing your other passwords) I think that 2FA on a different device is too much of a hassle for how much extra security it can bring.
What the title says. If I was to best describe what I liked so much about it, I would say that it was how it had both a serious ‘cozy factor’ (ex: anno 1800) while still being difficult and requiring effort+skill to win. What other games scratch that itch?
I’m with you on the KSP2 missions. Randomly generated missions may have endless possibilities, but handcrafted ones make much more sense and don’t have their quality determined by RNGesus. I remember once seeing a screenshot of a mission with the goal of testing launch clamps on the surface of the sun.

Kerbal Space Program 2. The new For Science! update finally made the game fun and performant! And because I suck at the game, I needed to send 4 rescue missions to return Valentina from the Mun.
The only mod I used in KSP1 was the Engineer Redux(?) mod, but I uninstalled it when advanced orbital info was added to the base game. The science mode couldn’t keep me motivated after finishing the tech tree with a research lab on minmus, and the career mode eventually gets too easy and too hard at the same time. I find KSP2’s exploration mode to be a perfect balance of the two, so I’m having a blast!

Apex Legends. Picked it up again this week after months of playing other games. I’m having loads of fun with Rampart, but keep finishing third or second.
