rafoix,

I definitely feel sick after 30 minutes of PSVR2. It doesn’t matter which game. It’s just anecdotal but there’s also the issue where none of the VR games come close to the quality non-VR games. The PSVR2 is getting less use than my Switch.

rafoix,

This is the exciting because only a tiny fraction of players will get to try it.

AMD RX 7700 XT & RX 7800 XT GPU Specs, Price, & Release Date (& FSR3) (www.youtube.com)

AMD just announced its RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT GPUs at Gamescom 2023. This video covers the specifications that AMD announced, alongside some of its first-party performance claims. AMD additionally discussed FSR3 in its Gamescom news announcement, with some talk of which games will support it initially. Bethesda's Starfield is...

rafoix,

GPU makers are still adjusting to the crypto crash that artificially created demand for their product. They’re letting the customers lower prices by not purchasing overpriced products.

Also, GPU’s only recently dropped to MSRP on store shelves so the current trend is for things to go back to normal.

rafoix,

99% of the comments on that YouTube video seem like astroturf. “OMG! I’ve been waiting for this! It looks so good!” Just a lot of crap like that.

Also, the current skill tree sucks. Spending skill points for a small percentage of something feels pointless.

Why should we think that a new skill tree designed by the same people that made the current one will seem like a positive?

rafoix,

I own it. It’s an okay game with very nice visuals.

It’s definitely stuck in the open world game design from the PS3/360 era. I kind of wish a developer with CRPG experience like Larian or Obsidian would do something with the CP2077 IP. I don’t think CDPR will ever progress past Witcher 3.

Watch this Diablo 4 Barbarian deal 7 billion damage to Uber Lilith while she's already down (www.pcgamer.com)

Hamburg City Brix faced off against Diablo 4's hardest boss with a Barbarian build focused on the absurd interaction between bleed damage and "Caged Heart of the Barber," a powerful gem exclusive to season 1. The final blow, which was really a single tick of damage from the bleed, hit Uber Lilith for more damage than any other...

Is this PCgaming news or Activision/Blizzard marketing trying to salvage their sinking massively monetized ship?

Edit: for the record, I own a copy of the cash register that is Diablo 4. It will be the last Blizzard game I will ever buy as long as their policy of making the game just be a store. That pretty much means I won’t be buying another Blizzard game. I’ve gone over a decade without touching any EA so I know it won’t be difficult.

rafoix,

Hopefully, this is the game that taught a lot of people that there’s a lot of money to be made by shamelessly lying to customers and that video game ”journalists” will happily lie to their own followers.

The video game industry is full of scumbags. Hello games, Activision/Blizzard, Tencent, Ubisoft, CDPR, Bungie and many more have exploited players to make massive profits.

The baseline system is almost always the most popular system. No developers should be hamstrung by MS’s bad business decisions.

I’m not sure that having BG3 run at 540p 30hz on the latest MS console will be good for Larian.

rafoix,

This monetizing is disgusting. I hope nobody buys it. Greed is ruining our hobby.

rafoix,

Theres better but there really isn’t cheaper. An Xbox Series S is $300. That’s a controller and a very relatively good APU even if it’s artificially limited.

I have a MiSTer FPGA and it definitely cost more than $300 and it cannot emulate anything newer that PS1 or Sega Saturn.

rafoix,

ESRB should be checking for government issues ID on all the games with gambling. That shit has ruined online gaming.

rafoix,

Should we have a game toxicity review site to warn people of how toxic a community is.

Court denies FTC’s last-ditch attempt to stop Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard (www.theverge.com)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has lost what may be its final attempt to block Microsoft from buying Activision Blizzard. It’s the second loss for the FTC after a US federal judge denied its request for a preliminary injunction earlier this week to block Microsoft from acquiring Activision Blizzard until the conclusion of...

rafoix,

Microsoft owning Activision Blizzard is like half of the NFL teams being owned by one person. One person that mismanages everything they already have.

rafoix,

As they should.

MS is using monopoly tactics to carve itself a huge portion of the video game market. They already own dozens of IPs that they have no intention of ever using.

rafoix,

Banjo-Kazooie wasn’t abandoned. MS purchased Rare 2 years after Banjo-tooie released.

MS had pretty much abandoned all of the great Rare IPs.

rafoix,

CD hasn’t been that good with the Tomb Raider franchise. They just tend to copy other developers’ game design.

I wish they would try going all-in on the survival elements that the last trilogy teases. Also, some advanced traversal options like Death Stranding.

rafoix,

Hopefully it’s a story thing that affects some possible in-game relationships.
