I don’t know if this is the correct community to post this. I have a Smart TV from a Greek manufacturer named TurboX. Not Android TV, Smart TV. This means that it has Internet access, has some pre-installed apps, but I can’t install any other apps on it. The menus thankfully don’t have any ads. However, the Youtube app...
My pi-hole has almost 1.4mil+ domains blocked. It doesn’t work on most streaming services. At least in my configuration. It absolutely works everywhere else. And I do have a Roku device in one of the kids rooms. It’s one of the biggest offenders with blocked requests. Telemetry I’d assume, attempted at least.
Does Vivaldi play nice with Wayland? I have it installed (can’t remember if was an rpm or flatpak) but seems to crash kinda often. Sometimes to the point of gnome session restarting. I used to have the opposite problem with my previous PC. All AMD cpu/GPU. Stock fedora 40 gnome.
I guess what I meant a bit more specifically are things like buttons, the screen, cables, any daughter boards needed for like special lights, speakers etc. stuff beyond, as you mentioned.
I prefer KDE for desktops, but gnome for laptops. However I’ve been using gnome on my desktop for a while now. With some minor customizations it’s fine.
The only game I have ever played is FIFA on a PS4. Now I have a gaming laptop but have no idea how I should go about playing games on Linux. Appreciate your help in advance!
Go with a classic: Minecraft Java. Bonus - use the prism launcher for mod packs. Vanilla MC is kinda boring (at least once you see all the bonkers stuff mods can add, just like Skyrim XD )
I found a (lengthy) guide to doing this but it is for gksu which is gone. I have to imagine there’s an easy way. I am running Ubuntu. There is no specific use case, it is just a feature I miss from windows....
At first I thought “hey, patient gaming is taking off” when I read this headline, but really, what it’s saying is that people are spending most of their time on evergreen live service titles like Fortnite. Ugh.
There are still a need for document printing at home. Granted it’s just smaller in scale these days. Mine is mostly used for the kids. Like printing out things to color on, or something educational. On rare occasions I’ll need to print some kinda form, for work or some kinda government form, even event tickets.
That said, I really don’t know anyone that’s looking to photo print at home anymore. It’s just cheaper to have it done somewhere like Walgreens or Walmart.
I’ve installed TLP on my Lenovo ThinkBook laptop and was wondering if there are additional steps I can take to extend the battery life when using the laptop unplugged....
How much good attention it’s gotten. No microtransactions, season passes etc. It’s called a ton of attention to all the AAA enshitification since it’s released.
So, I’d imagine those studios are scrambling to shift gears.
My new PC has 64g ram. But I’m also not using or plan to use windows. Checkmate M$!
But in all seriousness, 8g is like, the foundational minimum these days. Sad tbh. Browsers are so bloated these days. I’m surprised that browsers haven’t become their own OS yet. It kinda feels that way in some environments.
Well, your not too off. Like ASICs are made for mining cryptocurrency. Specialized processing designed for specific computations. This indeed make it’s efficiency greater than a general purpose CPU.
It has that wire to output audio on both speakers? That’s the green one btw. The pink is for mic input. USB could be for a few different things depending on the features that particularl set has.
Edit: Nvm, thought the question was for a headset, not a microphone. Unless the mic was part of a headset or something. Idk, other comments may have the answer.
Glad I don’t really watch content anymore. Though, between the Roku TV my kid has, and the big Samsung TV in our living room…my pihole is constantly hammered by both of them.
I just wish the games that are remade/remastered are basically just graphic updates, with some bug fixes and minor qol additions. That’s it. Not like what they did to ff7.
Hell, diablo 2 Remaster was good. The addition of being able to swap between new and old graphics on the fly is amazing tbh.
The game came out in 2021. There are far older games from other publishers still up and getting updates. Stop giving these pump-and-dump games your money.
Those findings are crazy. I’ve never been social media addicted, been into luxury or general show-off brands (I pay extra to not look like I’m an advertisement… for anything but metal bands), so I don’t really know much about those issues.
I really miss the mid 90’s / early 2k chats and forums. I still occasionally use irc. Back when the most personal info anyone could be reasonably asked for was “asl?”
They’ve turned us into the product and consumer. A snake ever hungry, eating it’s own tail.
It doesn’t have to be done that way. From my understanding, fedora does it that way as a safety environment or something (could be wrong). But you can absolutely just do a dnf upgrade and keep on going. It’s the software center that invokes that reboot to install the updates.
Not exactly, though I see your point. I think it would be more accurate if McDonald’s charged for ketchup, mustard, salt, drink cups, lids, straws etc.
Maybe one day Baldurs Gate 3 will have the Tortle race(mods surely before official). Then just make a full party of Tortle monks. No micro transactions needed XD
But ok a serious note, and full disclosure, I’ve never played this game. But it’s a big part of why I’m never touching Diablo 4. This ‘generation’ of game monetization is deplorable.
