They need more introductory tools/mini games that teach you the basics.
They also need regular events that bring new players in at the same time. They’ll have a better time when they’re matched against each other. You can’t really guarantee this, but giving people maybe 1-3 “new player week” per year would raise the probability.
It’s a shame they don’t have time to do this before Arcane season 2. It’s a shame they didn’t do this years ago.
Any game has churn. If you’re not bringing in new players, then you’re dying.
EVE Online from 2000-2014 is the gold standard of longevity. (After that they fired their economist and ruined the economy.)
I mean, it doesn’t help that league also has a reputation for being super toxic. I only follow league in any capacity cause a close friend loves watching the LCS but it seems like a cool game, I just don’t really wanna get into something that would consume all my time and expose me to shitty people CONSTANTLY :.
Idk I guess thats fair, the only competitive online game I play is splatoon which has it’s issues (recently a huge scandal in the pro scene) but is way better than just about any other online competitive game.
My experiences with actually interacting with people on lemmy or mastodon have been pretty lovely though 🤷🏻
As an LCS viewer this was interesting to watch. Sounds like he had a really positive impact on the LEC. I hope he finds what he’s looking for going forward
My signal is terrible at work, so the site isn’t loading, but are there any K’Sante nerfs? He’s fun, but damn has he seemed overwhelming at MSI. It’s too much, man lol.
I’ve also had a friend tell me big changes were coming down in league. Is this the patch with those?
Something, something $600 Faker skin. I don’t follow exactly what the deal is.
But I have better things to protest over, and a cosmetic only skin ain’t it. I can just… not buy it.
If I’m going to be mad about something, it’s going to be something worth being mad over. For instance, the Blitzchung incident that made me quit classic WoW just before hitting level cap.
In the future, can you keep it to one post per match? In the future, you can potentially post “Game 1” “Game 2” comments under that, but it certainly doesn’t seem necessary for now. People can just specify if they’re commenting about individual games.
I definitely can. Thought since it’s one of two international event I would give people the opportunity to discuss the individual games, but I can see how it’s very close to the only activity in the community. For me personally I was trying to find some discourse about the games while they were happening that didn’t require me to open Reddit, but alas I failed.
Yeah, if you keep it up, it’ll happen someday. I should have checked, because I would have been here. Partly I avoided it because I didn’t want spoilers and wasn’t watching live. Partly I just expected to be shouting into the void.
But we’ve gotta start somewhere, right?
What region do you follow? I made a little app for posting to this community, with source on GitHub. Pretty easy to adapt to the region of your choosing. I’ll likely stick to LCS posting myself.
