In 2010, shortly before the case was set to go to trial, the South Dakota legislature passed a law that prohibits victims of alleged sexual abuse who are 40 or older from suing institutions.
Sadly, this is absolutely normal. It’s not something talked about so openly, but my ex’s dad was molested and raped by Mormon missionaries for years back when he was in the ‘normalization’ school.
It’s disgusting what natives have been put through.
This is not a new story. It’s been talked about around Native American country for a long time. Had a college roommate who was Sioux, but he had French missionary blood as well. Dude had a striking appearance.
