Framework and System76 are both pretty good and user-serviceable. I know System76’s customer service is particularly really good.

Distro-hopping might be a sign of perfectionism tbh. I think I’m a perfectionist, and I find that Arch doesn’t feel right. But when I try other distros, they have weird and odd issues that Arch just doesn’t have.

If you do have that itch, give whatever distro you’re looking at a try in a virtual machine. Linux has virt-manager which generally works well with Linux guests, but if you use VMware for a Windows VM, that’s also a good option too.

Palworld Becomes the 7th Game Ever to Reach 1 Million Concurrent Players on Steam (www.githyp.com)

“Palworld is now one of only seven games that have seen over 1 million concurrent players on Steam – the others include: PUBG (3.2 mil), Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (1.8 mil), Counter-Strike 2 (1.4 mil), Lost Ark (1.3 mil), Dota 2 (1.2 mil), and Cyberpunk 2077 (1 mil).”

I keep seeing that yellow Totoro everywhere.

Opinions on generative AI aside, I’m pretty sure the legal consensus on the copyright surrounding it means whatever was generated is basically in the public domain, unless they’ve edited it in a way that’s transformative.

I didn’t say I was certain - just pretty sure :P That was based on what was known last year, dunno if news on that have been updated yet. I’m bound to see it on Lemmy when it does. Thank for letting me know though.

They say this but have some of their games on GOG lol

I’m not enough of a Linux user to inconvenience myself so I’m just using Steam. The cloud sync is the killer feature for me - if GOG had something like it even if I have to pay extra, I’d so use it.

They actually used cracked versions of their games years ago. Rockstar were also caught red-handed using cracked EXEs.

I don’t protest it, it’s just funny to see the companies act hypocritical.

My experience with Heroic has been… okay. I think the big issue is that a lot of tools are built with Steam in mind and not Heroic, which unintentionally adds friction.

I don’t think PeerTube would work here, unless you mean a bot that posts PeerTube stuff from certain channels every so often.

There is a bot around here that converts YouTube links to Piped ones.

Sony also did this same rollout in the same time-span. PS4 was released in 2013, Pro version was in 2016. It’s been about three years since the PS5 was released so it checks out.

I liked the gameplay and environmental of Watch_Dogs 2 more (edit: on the latter, it’s about how lively WD2 felt compared to 2077), but Cyberpunk 2077 is still solid. As someone else said, there’s replay value to the different routes you can take. I’d definitely wait for the base game to go on sale though. I got mine for £25 and I think that’s an alright price for it.

If I recall, VR support in Linux is quite spotty as well. I can trust that Valve will invest some time into getting this to work, but a lot of the PC gaming market share is still Windows so it makes sense to support them first.

Seems like the opposite of what happened to No Man’s Sky, initially praised at first then started getting complaints, whereas NMS was the opposite - a game that had major issues on launch (unhelped by overpromising) but built itself up to be a solid game afterwards.

Bethesda should take a page from Hello Games’ book and fix the issues prevalent in the game then do the press stuff later. That also worked for Cyberpunk 2077, FWIW.

Yup. But in any case, that reputation sticks. The point was, fix the major issues with the game then go do the press. NMS and Cyberpunk have both done that.

iirc sudo has a bunch of quotes to spit out when an incorrect password is typed. Gentoo exposes that feature with the offensive USE flag.

Edit: Looks like Pick is sourcing the weirder names from this site: glitch.com/~name-that-color

The closest they’ve been in recent times is when Dolphin were announcing their step onto the Steam storefront, to which Valve asked Nintendo about it and all that happened. Dolphin is still free to do whatever, just not on Valve’s land.

AFAICT Analogue has been in the clear for their past FPGA consoles that specifically targeted Nintendo’s, can’t see it having isuses here.

Own a Steam Deck myself, can vouch for that. Haven’t messed with yuzu, though Dolphin and Yuzu are on Flathub anyway so it wasn’t like Steam Deck users are missing out from it not being on Steam.

Given the amount of times Rayman 2 has been ported as a “new” game every time a new console was released I’m very surprised UbiSoft haven’t remastered it for PC yet.
