graymess, to world in North Korean Workers in China Riot over Unpaid Wages; 2,000 Occupy Factory, Kill Plant Manager

What the fuck are you talking about?

graymess, to games in Ubisoft CEO defends Skull and Bones’ $70 price despite its live service leanings, calls it ‘quadruple-A’

I only played the beta a couple months ago and I found it unbelievably boring and uninspired. I’ve never been so uninvested in a game’s world and this is a motherfucking pirate game. How is it this dull?!

graymess, to 3ds in Wanted to bring attention to the 1.0 release of this excellent Moonlight PC Streaming App that just dropped today!!

Thank you for sharing! I didn’t think this was possible on 3DS hardware.

I’m still having issues getting it to work, though. I shut off NVIDIA GameStream in favor of Sunshine and made sure all the required ports are open on my PC. But when trying to pair to PC, the first time I get a PIN it immediately fails, saying something about the URL being illegal. If I try again, get another PIN, and enter that into Sunshine, nothing happens. More annoying, at most stages of the process, Moonlight soft locks my 3DS and it can’t even quit the app from the Home button, forcing me to hold the power button until it turns off.

graymess, to retrogaming in Sly Cooper - What Happened to This Iconic Platformer?

I replayed the first one on OpenGOAL last year and it’s amazing how good it still looks at higher resolutions. Jak II is fully playable now and I’m planning to start that as soon as someone releases an HD texture pack.

graymess, to games in The Universim is the ultimate world building god game

Oh no. That sounds like my ideal game.

graymess, to games in The Universim is the ultimate world building god game

Time gated? That sounds fucking awful. Who puts time gated mechanics in a game outside of mobile garbage?

graymess, to games in The Universim is the ultimate world building god game

Research? I guess I don’t know what a god game is. I was picturing Black & White and I don’t remember research being a component.

graymess, to lemmyshitpost in Well........

Don’t know if this is still the case, but last time I had a Capri Sun in Europe 2007-ish it was a completely different drink than what I was used to in the US. It was actually more like a fruit juice and had a vibrant color (I emptied it into a cup to see). Compared to our clear, sugar-watery Capri Suns, I thought it was way better. Curious if that’s still the way it is over there.

graymess, to games in Which games do you dislike, but the rest of the world loves them?

Oh right. I keep forgetting I started this like two months ago and never came back to it.

graymess, to games in Microsoft Confirms Plans To Release Xbox First Party Games “Across All Platforms”, Including PlayStation

No fucking chance Sony’s going to let a rival set up shop on their own consoles. Not even a possibility. Look at how much Apple and Google fought with Epic over keeping them off their phones. And that’s just over a secondary app store on a device that can do a million different things that the parent companies can still find ways to monetize. You’re talking about a competitor selling a subscription to bypass PlayStation’s only source of sales. Sony will fight that with everything they’ve got and no cut of the subscription fees will ever be enough to change their minds.

graymess, to games in Rumored Nintendo Switch Flash Cart Video Shows Multiple Games on a Single Cart

Based on what I know of the Switch homebrew scene, I cannot fathom how this would work. Any ideas?

graymess, to retrogaming in PC spec for retrogames

Most emulators rely more on CPU power over GPU though, right?

graymess, to games in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake announced

Not exactly updated graphics, but you can play Jak & Daxter at 4K 60FPS on PC with OpenGOAL. Best way to play the game.

graymess, to games in Uncovered EA patent would use AI to replace professional voice actors with (fake) you

Agreed on the general principle, but I’m kind of glad a company that everyone already thinks of as shit will hold the patent on this. It’s absolutely not an idea that I’d want to spread throughout the industry and at least now it’s limited to use in games I’ll never play.

graymess, to retrogaming in What Game Boy game do you love that you never hear anyone talk about?

Just FYI, there’s a 3DS remake that has an English fan translation patch.
