I hadn't been to Third Hill Brewing in #SilverSpring, #Maryland since opening weekend, so Mrs. Porterman and I stopped by. She had the Fun Time Selzer and loved it. I had the I Hart Stout, a 10.1% ABV imperial stout. Malty, roasty, and smooth. I followed it up with Three Strikes, You're Stout!, a 6.8% ABV American stout. This one reminded me of a black IPA. I just loved the hoppy bitterness, and it's one of the best beers I've had in a very very long time. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

The lovely Mrs. Porterman and I had a quick mini-date this evening after the kid's softball game. We popped into Nepenthe Brewing in #Baltimore, #Maryland for some boneless Old Bay wings and a drink. I enjoyed Dark Path, a smooth 5.5% ABV vanilla coffee porter. Saturday's final stop was to Attaboy Beer in #Frederick, #Maryland. This was quite the occasion, and the reason we planned our Saturday brewery hopping: Small Tank 033 Robust Porter. It was just amazing. Roasty and dry. Exactly what you'd expect if Attaboy actually brewed a porter. Which they did. So yay. @beersofmastodon

The family and I headed to Frey's Brewing Company in #MountAiry, #Maryland for drinks and games. I started with the Frey's Winter Devil Rave, an 8.5% ABV imperial stout. My wife enjoyed a sugar free caramel vanilla iced coffee. I followed it up with Smoochin' Roy Rogers, a 7% ABV Irish stout. The kid enjoyed a chocolate muffin. We played Tell Me Without Telling Me for a bit followed by a couple rounds of Shut the Box. We always love stops at Frey's! #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

Drinking a Holy Donut Dark Chocolate Peppermint by Lone Pine Brewing and it's effing great! The dark chocolate is delicious and the peppermint is prevalent but not overbearing. Super smooth as well. Sad I bought a single of this one. I'll definitely be heading back to the store to grab more. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

The family and I stopped into Pariah Brewing in #Baltimore. #Maryland for drinks and music. I had a Fudgies, an imperial oatmeal milk stout brewed with peanuts, chocolate, and vanilla. Yesterday my wife and I headed to the newly opened Potomac Ridge Brewing in #Sharpsburg, #Maryland. I got myself the Coal Miner's Porter and we shared the Margherita pizza. The place was absolutely packed, which allowed for some good conversation with new friends. The space was great. We will definitely stop back when we are in the area again. @beersofmastodon

It was a stout, nachos, and pizza kind of Saturday! We headed to Falling Branch Brewery in Street, #Maryland for Stoutfest!
I started with a flight consisting of:

• Double Goats in Hats (Pickett)
• Oyster Moon (FBB)
• Felix Brew-tista (Hopkins Farm)
• Baby Ruth Bader (Independent Brewing)
  Followed that up Black Market Java (FBB), then half a pour of Chocolat (Battery Island). And for lunch we had chicken nachos by Top Nach and a pepperoni and bacon pizza by Love Crust Pizza. @beersofmastodon

Sunday my wife and I headed to Chessie's Wharf, the new RaR Brewing taproom in #Annapolis, #Maryland. The place was crazy busy, yet we only needed to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. I was excited that they had enough stouts for a flight! Pictured are:

• 10 Layers w/ Salted Caramel, 7.2% ABV
• 10 Layers w/ Tiramisu, 7.2% ABV
• Devils Pie, 12.4% ABV
• Imperial 10 Layers, 10% ABV
  By far my favorite was the Tiramisu.

Yesterday my wife and I headed to #Maryland's newest farm brewery, Stone Silo. I got myself the Oaten Around, a smooth 5.6% ABV oatmeal stout. My wife got the Nehemiah Nectar, a 5.3% ABV tangerine hazy IPA. We both enjoyed our selections. The locals showed up hard in support, as parking and seating were scarce, and it was great to see. There were both picnic tables and Adirondack chairs outside, along with fire pits. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon

Last night my wife and I headed to the newly opened Black Flag Social House in #Marriottsville, #Maryland. I got myself Dark Arts, an 11.5% ABV imperial stout. We didn't grab any food this visit, but it all smelled amazing. The atmosphere was very family-friendly, as you'd expect if you'd visited Black Flag Brewing before. Overall I am excited to have them open and I know I'm going to be a regular here. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon
