From the excerpts in the trailer it looks like they’ve only updated the graphics. Too bad because I always thought the controls were shoddy af and ruined the fun
Oh my goodness. Thank you for pointing out the different VA. I knew something felt off, moreso than the new character models.
Also, I can’t help but feel like the updated Frank wandered out of the basement tier of fighters from a Street Fighter title. I feel like he should be chubbier and ruddier. I can’t speak for the direction they took the character in later installments but he always felt like kind of a goober schmuck whose “instincts” finally paid off. I like that characterization, especially in light of the game’s satire of clueless Americans.
I’ll keep an eye on this one. I never did get that achievement for killing the 53,000 zombies in a playthrough…
Visually kinda unimpressive but what they are going for is completely oposite. Seems to be in very early stages so I hope the visuals and animations will be improved on later. But the overall vision sounds too good to be true
Oh I certainly am. Doesn’t really sound too much like my kind of game, but I’d love MMOs to lean more into being virtual worlds so definitely keeping my eyenon it. Very careful optimism with a healthy dose of scepticism.
They got the EverQuest Next/Landmark guy on this? Promising another game that defies belief? Maybe the tech is there now but I’m not going to hold my breath.
I never got too deep into it, but I enjoyed ~10 hours of it before getting distracted by other games. It felt more like a park business simulator like Roller Coaster Tycoon, rather than an elaborate park and ride designer like Planet Coaster.
It’s totally worth $15 if you want to scratch that itch.
I like it. It’s sort of a follow up to Rollercoaster tycoon 1 and 2. Same kinda play style, but then in a modern game. I had some good fun with it. Personally I like it more than Planet Coaster, where I found the customization too overwhelming.
I really liked it. I’ve never played RCT 1 or 2 but played a lot of 3 and spend a lot of hours in planet coaster. I’m the guy who loves to create beautiful rides. Parkitect was a really cool mechanic where utility buildings are considered immersion breaking for guests. Same goes for employee paths. Such functional structures as well as the delivery of goods to your stores inside the park should be hidden behind scenery to guests feel more immersed. In my parks this added a really cool dynamic where every area is a labyrinth of guest paths and employee paths which are visually separated from each other.
I loved it. It’s a modern rct2 for sure. I couldn’t find anything that was super different about this versus roller coaster tycoon 2. The gameplay is fun, I got easily addicted to it, they added a couple new elements that were kind of fun, I don’t know if you’re debating about it. I think it’s worth the money completely
Different types of graphics cards would map themselves to different areas of memory, so it was possible to have more than one graphics card so long as the memory used by the graphics cards didn’t overlap. Generally, this meant one of the cards was monochrome and the other could be something like VGA. DOS itself had no idea what to do with more than one graphics card. However, both graphics cards were mapped to to the processor’s address space and DOS had no memory protection so applications had full access to the hardware and could talk directly and utilize both graphics cards.
The way I saw it used was with a very old computer controlled microscope. The monochrome card/monitor was actually the main screen that the computer booted up with (which was kind of funny with a 486), and this is where you controlled the microscope in their application. The VGA card was the secondary that was used to display images.
All I remember about Rage is buying it and then immediately refunding it. This was several years after release and somehow it still had stupid issues with Radeon video cards. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
I suppose maybe that’s fixed by now, but I never went back.
