My point is name and shame the Republicans, don’t use a euphemism line “an entire portion of the populace” because that enables the both sides bullshit
These guys thrive in small communities. Look at a lot of the city subreddits. They’ve been taken over by right wing reactionaries claiming there’s an unprecedented crime wave.
I like to think of sealioning, traditional fact based refuting, and old-fashioned trolling as the rock-paper-scissors of online arguments. Facts beat trolls, sealions beat facts, trolls beat sealions.
It honestly doesn’t matter what Congress has the authority to do at this point. They lack the capacity. Once we get a solid Dem majority, then we can start exploring what Congress can do.
Eh. It affects the composition of state and local governments, which is what allows for voter disenfranchisement policies in red areas, which dramatically affects presidential elections.
The thing Dems absolutely refuse to understand is that policy. Does. Not. Matter. Optics matter, that’s all. 99% of voters do not know anything about any policies. They know headlines. They know memes. Joe Biden could personally walk in front of IDF bullets to defend Palestinians and it would not matter if the media decided not to cover it.
Win the media, win the election. Truth does not matter. Results do not matter. Only the media matters.
Republicans get this. Democrats keep insisting they can run on substance.
I used the vague term “solid majority” because it depends on what legislation you’re trying to get passed. Supermajority is great, but reconciliation only requires a simple majority iirc.
Unfortunately, it appears the threshold for “no one of my race will ever trust you people again” is approximately 400 years of constant slavery, brutality, and slaughter. Less than that, and you get a lot of “surely things are exaggerated” and “they won’t hurt me, I’m one of the good ones”.
If you don’t have enough english comprehension to understand I was expressing dismay at our system of government and not criticism of Joe “The Guy You’re All Making Me Vote For” Biden, then I don’t think this will be a fruitful conversation.
Shills like you intentionally straddle that line so when you’re called out you can pretend that you were just nebulously criticizing the state of things instead of trying to influence an election.
One of the amazing political achievements of Republicans in this election cycle has been their ability, at least so far, to send Donald Trump’s last year in office down the memory hole. Voters are supposed to remember the good economy of January 2020, with its combination of low unemployment and low inflation, while forgetting...
Blahaj is the craziest to me. There’s a huge hexbear influence there. It’s like, yo, if you physically tried to go to Russia you would probably be beaten and murdered just for existing.
That’s not one of the options though. You get to pick which genocide. You either get restrained genocide, or full genocide with a side of dismantling American democracy.
Democrat politicians: I don’t like what Israel is doing, but politically I can’t directly oppose them. Let’s try to pressure them to stop the killing, seek a ceasefire, and send aid to the Gazans.
Republican politicians: wooo fuck yeah kill more brown people! Especially children!!
You: I literally cannot tell these two groups apart.
That’s fair, but there’s also the context of some very aggressive “I can unstraighten you” peeps on the fediverse. Mostly femboys and trans women. They’re all over blahaj.
You’re like those poor Nation of Islam bastards who think Jesus and Mohammed were black. Desperately need to think that historically, you were the norm.
Sure but the difference is NPCs do not have the capacity for thought. These people have the biological capacity yet choose not to use it. That’s a huge difference. Most of these idiots if they had been raised properly would be just as varied and dynamic as you or me.
They’re not fundamentally different than us, they’re just mentally stunted by their upbringing. We shouldn’t think of them as a lesser class of human beings, because we all know where that train of thought takes us.
Yeah and I’m saying that’s a dangerous mental habit to fall into. Keep in mind that all people are people, and at least have the capacity for rich, varied, interesting lives and thoughts and emotions. You don’t have to care about them, but keep it in mind.
