You are right but the problem here is it’s happening all at once on several fields. It’s not just elevator operators, it’s anyone doing basic design tasks, writing, translating, voice narrating, and basic programming. And that’s a lot of jobs.
Couldn’t agree more, you make a point with the timeline. It’s changing too fast. And it’s not only ChatGPT but also image generation tools such as Midjourney. There are AI for 3D models too now, which I believe will be of industry standard quality in a year or two.
AI is a phenomenon of a similar weight as the Industrial Revolution, but its much faster development means a lot of people can’t keep up or change careers
It’s only been one year. I’d like to see how this topic aged in 2026. AI is developing at an unprecedented speed for a socioeconomic phenomenon of its calibre.
Edit: And yes we might need some kind of government support. What scares me is, where do you get the money to support such a large population?
To those saying “don’t use Google photos”: can google access/use my photos on my phone even of they are stored locally without backup or sync turned on?
That’s true, however note that credibility comes attached to personal identity, as the text mentions in the last paragraph. A newspaper isn’t a person, articles are written by different journalists- however when a media shows a majority of bogus articles they quickly lose credibility too
They might go up but I’d be surprised it will rival Skyrim. I’m a Skyrim fan, yet I’m not enticed to play Starfield for reasons beyond me. It feels like it’s lacking something and I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t believe mods would make much of a difference, but who knows, maybe I’m wrong.
I modded Skyrim (and Oblivion) because the vanilla game was exciting already, in spite of its flaws. I couldn’t be bothered otherwise.
Maybe I misunderstood something in your explanation. But afaik, jobs in the videogame industry are very much like freelance jobs and the position you have today is going to be very different from whatever you will be doing in 2 years or whatever. Heck, you are lucky if your contract lasts more than six months. Same for VFX jobs.
Amazing people make articles on… Nothing, essentially? It’s just encumbrance, right?
I was expecting it would at least go into detail and explain or compare how many items or units of weight you can carry, if it slows you down gradually or if it pretty much freezes you on the spot, differences with previous well known franchise games but no, none of that either.
I think the issue might be that if you need the XP you may have to consider sex even if you don’t want to. I otherwise don’t have a problem with sex content in a game, if it doesn’t affect the rest of the gameplay mechanics
Interesting take. I’ve been in educational institutions in South America and Australia and usually the bare minimum you need to pass is a 6, occasionally a 5/10. I think expecting most people to score a 7/10 to pass is a bit unrealistic, unless we are talking about school for gifted children or something. No idea that was the standard in Central Europe
I’m not a fan of RT because I find their critic score absolutely meaningless. IMDB is much better for me, I find the average people score rating usually matches my appreciation of a movie. I am trying hard to remember a single movie with a score of 5/10 that I enjoyed though.
But it’s not based on any educational system. That’s just the spin people erroneously attribute to it. It’s just a percentage, and it’s up to each person to figure out what number works for them or not as an acceptable minimum.
Same with movies, another commenter said a 5/10 movie was good enough for them sometimes, whereas for me the lowest enjoyable is a 6.
All that is fine, what makes no sense is to expect others to have the same standards I do.
Some of that is probably reusable, such as the concept material. But when it comes to assets themselves, that’s a different story. Sometimes red tape prevents migrating assets from one game onto its sequels, meaning they may need to remake a somewhat different version of the assets.
As for the Witcher, I’ve watched a few episodes and found the writing and direction just cringe. It’s also based more on the books than the game as far as I’ve seen (which I’ve read and liked).
I’m not a Castlevania fan. I’m judging solely the show here. Watched 2 seasons and gave up. Visually it does make clever use of resources, they’ve nailed the colour and bloom effects and they can pull off action scenes with very limited framerate animation so hats off for that, however the characters go off model frequently and it shows that it’s hastily made ( budget reasons I guess). The writing kills it for me, the characters and story feel very shallow.
Arcane is a really good show. Solid writing, acting, action, animation, and it’s also visually stunning. There was a lot of talent and effort dedicated to it and it shows. At the time of its release the painterly style was very innovative as well the techniques used to achieve that. I would also vote it n1.

This is not a criticism - I love how much attention this game has been getting. I’m just not understanding why BG3 has been blowing up so much. Okay so after seeing the bot TLDR and the other comments, I actually went and read the article. It’s a bit wishy washy as to why and mentions RAM could be the issue for S consoles.
When I read the headline I thought it meant it was also not viable for PCs either, which doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Most PCs have at least 16GB ram these days.
Why are people upset at all? I don’t get it. I actually think this is good, it will either force Microsoft to change their policy with consoles and/or release a line that can compete with PS. Or else. Meanwhile PC is still an option.
This might sound super weird, but whenever I actually find time to go “I have like 4 hours to spare, might as well play a game,” my brain just goes “hey, remember that movie you wanted to watch?” or “hey, remember that thing you wanted to wikipedia?” or “Might as well pay rent now, it’s due in 3 days.”...
