Paradachshund,

I’m glad that to this day how this works is a matter of folk legend and conjecture.

Paradachshund,

We will provide our full support to those who are impacted during the transition, including severance benefits informed by local employment laws.

Translation: we will give them as little as we are legally allowed to.

This guy can fuck right off. I’m sure he’s wiping away tears with all those benjamins he just raked in.

Paradachshund,

The level of cope around this merger was insane. It’s never a good thing, people.

Paradachshund,

Puzzle meat sounds way better than mystery meat. Mystery meat is scary, puzzle meat is a challenge.

Paradachshund,

I remember the first couple hours of combat in Outer Worlds felt great to me, but it had the depth of a puddle.

Paradachshund, (edited )

Not exactly a small indie project when you hear that number.

Paradachshund,

I thought Thromebreaker: The Witcher Tales had some extremely tough ones. They also heavily effect your gameplay in that many times they add or remove a character from your party. I had built a deck in that game that relied heavily on a character. That character then did something morally reprehensible and I decided to banish them. That removed them from my deck, too, so I had to come up with a new strategy after that.

Fun game if you can get into it. Almost every choice is extremely morally gray and often feels like there is no good choice at all.

Paradachshund,

I don’t know enough about electricity to confirm or deny this interpretation.

Paradachshund,

Do people actually have a problem with them?

Paradachshund,

That sounds like it could be fun!

Paradachshund,

Thanks for these! Indie Hell Zone sounds like it would be for laughing at bad games 😅

Paradachshund,

Very cool, thanks!

Paradachshund,

I don’t really know what qualifies either tbh, but it’s just easy to only hear about the big stuff coming out. Thanks for the recommendation!

Paradachshund,

Listen, we all know gamers can’t read. What did you expect? /s

Paradachshund,

I’m surprised how much pearl clutching there is in this thread. This seems like a good thing. It’s all supposed to be clearly labeled, and if people want to watch streams with nudity, what’s wrong with that?

Paradachshund,

Personally, as long as kids are getting access to good sex ed I don’t see any issue with them stumbling across sexualized content online. We all did it at some point in our lives, digital or not. It’s a part of growing up. I also don’t think sexualized content should be seen as more problematic than violent content. If anything it should be less problematic (and to be clear I don’t find either to be an issue personally)

Paradachshund,

That’s definitely something to improve, but hiding sex from online spaces is not going to help.

Paradachshund,

To be honest, you’re making a lot more wild assumptions in this comment than anything I said.

If you’re right, then maybe the system will need some improvements. But it’s all just speculation your part, so I don’t see any reason to worry about it for something so inconsequential to begin with.

Paradachshund,

Yeah, America really got fucked up by the puritans. That prudishness still runs deep. I’m philosophically very sex positive, but I get it, and I’m not immune to that shock factor either sometimes. I try my best to disregard it.

Paradachshund,

Search engines could massively improve this simply by rewarding brevity instead of length (more scrolling by users = better seo ranking under current paradigm)

Paradachshund,

I don’t care about Epic at all, but this is a good thing in my opinion. These app stores are too influential of a distribution platform in the modern era to be controlled by a single party with total impunity.

Paradachshund,

In what world is it a financial failure? Didn’t they just make an asset flip and potentially made millions of dollars based on player figures? Hard to imagine 100% of people refunded…

Paradachshund,

I would imagine they act much like the NPCs you fight.

Paradachshund,

Does anyone know why it’s so expensive there?

Paradachshund,

As we all know, throwing tons of money at esports has always worked so well in the past! /s

Paradachshund,

The ends justify the means it seems. I hope these “necessary” human casualties land on their feet.

Paradachshund,

Despite the hype from gamers unreal 5 is far from an automatic “make the game good” button. It does some things well, but has plenty of short comings, including networking and physics from what I know.

Paradachshund,

I definitely have experienced the moving target issues firsthand. It felt like you couldn’t count on them actually maintaining or developing features that were advertised. Unity has the same problem.

Paradachshund,

Unfortunately Godot, while a promising project, is nowhere near as production ready or feature rich as Unity or Unreal.

Paradachshund,

I hope so, too.

StarCraft could return, according to Blizzard president, but not necessarily as an RTS (www.pcgamer.com)

While Blizzard is very much focussed on its big money-makers like its various Warcraft games, from WoW to Hearthstone to Warcraft Rumble, as well as Diablo and the much-maligned Overwatch 2, he’s still open to StarCraft making a comeback. That said, RTS fans shouldn’t get their hopes up. While the series might return, that...

Paradachshund,

We can only pray they won’t. It won’t be good.

Paradachshund,

The people making the decisions don’t care nor will they be affected by one in any meaningful way.

Paradachshund,

The company will, but from what I’ve seen the decision makers find ways to ensure they still get paid just as much or nearly as much, usually by laying people off and screwing over customers even more.

These companies are purely short term focused. They don’t look to the long term and they don’t care about the company’s stability far into the future. It’s all about hitting the next financial target no matter what.

Paradachshund,

I agree with you, but from what I’ve seen large corporations don’t. That’s all I can say, and this is all just anecdotal.

Paradachshund,

I can’t speak for FFXIV, but if you want pvp in an MMO you might give guild wars 2 a try. It’s got 5v5 pvp matches where everyone is on an even playing field. It’s available in the free to play version, and you can go into it right after the tutorial if you want, don’t even have to do leveling.

There’s also a large scale pvp mode called world vs world where you have three teams of hundreds of players fighting over territory. That one uses non-equalized stats so it’s an end game thing, but it’s a lot of fun!

Paradachshund,

Seems like on that last one someone could go through and change all the content in every page to a link to the new wiki. A PIA? Certainly, but at least it would get the ball rolling and use the built up SEO from fandom to help your new site get views.

Paradachshund,

I wonder if you could use a bot and AI to write fake information and post that instead. Seems like fandom wouldn’t have enough game specific info to judge the accuracy, especially if it happened over time.
