I saw Jimmy Page and Robert Plant play there in the late 90’s. It was totally awesome, they played almost 3 hours of Led Zeppelin and Page/Plant songs. John Bonham’s son Jason was on drums.

I’ve never had a Twitter account and never felt the need for one, also haven’t been missing out on that junk. I’ve read lots of tweets, on occasions when I was offered a twitter link for whatever, but just never felt like I needed to join up at all. Just seems like a waste of time to get on social media where all the posts are just small bits of opinionated content without much depth.

The mod-supported ultra-widescreen option was not good. Bethesda’s update is definitely better than it was, and since that was the only Fallout mod I used these updates are all good to me.

Being self-sufficient should be a goal for every human being to strive for. Independence is a potent form of freedom that makes you feel like a magical eagle.

I’m not saying you should be Ted Kazynski or however you spell the Unabomber’s last name and live in complete isolation for most of your life, because it’s cool to have access to society’s benefits and all. But the more you can do for yourself, the more secure you will be in all ways. Basically don’t be a helpless or useless person.

VR can be great without photorealism too. We can apply OP’s concept to VR games and find numerous fun games that will run well on lower-powered systems. Dragon Fist VR for example - it’s basically Tekken in VR and you fight life-size NPC opponents with your own Kung Fu skills, and the graphics are decent but not photorealistic by any stretch of imagination.

If you look at statistics, it’s extremely unlikely for any school to have a shooting. 99.99999% of children from ages 0 to 18 in the USA are not harmed by firearms.

So you can waste your time and sanity worrying about that or just live without fear and find what makes you happy in life. Either way you and your kids will be safe so it’s your choice to be crippled by irrational fear or not.

That’s just a fantasy that will never happen though. Guns are already here in the number of hundreds of millions, and we have the right to own them, and we choose to keep them.

It also wouldn’t help for Congress to ban “assault weapons” because it would be soon declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, and that would overturn all the state-level bans already in place. Which would be a victory for gun rights and the principles of individual liberty that we should all celebrate.

Mine works fine without mods on the next-gen update. It’s looking much better than before on my widescreen monitor. I used to need mods to make it work in 21:9 and unlocked framerate, and now it’s all supported by the stock game so I’m pleased with it.

I did have a crash to desktop bug until I disabled the Weapon Debris graphics setting though. That was my one lame hassle that happened with it.

Mine tried to get me to plug in a monitoring device into our cars’ OBD-II ports after we signed up. I said Hell Naw and returned them shits to the sender. They said my rates would go up if I didn’t use it and they didn’t really change.

Next car I get will have to be neutered of such spyware, since they’re apparently building it all in now. Current car just had a box I unplugged to disable the 3G cellular network connectivity and the car works just fine without it.

The Valve Index is here already and great. No bullshit like the Quest, just VR that works well. If you have a gaming PC with at least a quad-core and RTX 3060 then you should be good to get started with one. Mine works fine on a 9-year old gaming PC with 6 cores, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 3060TI. The motherboard is that old, the rest of the parts are newer (mostly GPU)

Yeah no shit. Standalone isn’t as good as wired because you can’t fit a bigass Nvidia card inside a VR headset.

Right but you can’t buy one of those, they aren’t on the market. What Valve has currently is excellent already but you can’t walk around town wearing it (as if anyone would need to)

No, the Index still has a higher resolution than the Quest2 and earlier standalone VR headsets, and the Index still has a class-leading 130-degree field of view and 144Hz refresh rate. It has excellent sound and the best VR controllers on the market. It’s still an overall great VR setup for those of us that have good gaming PCs.

I’ve been playing Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk 2077 in VR on my Index recently using mods. It’s fuckin’ awesome.

It think it’s debatable about how you define Races, but it’s also quite obvious that biological races exist. There are specific differences in the physical biology that separate the races, and common traits among them that identify them as part of the group. Skin color, hair type, bone structure, genetic predisposition to certain diseases, etc. Physical traits are passed from the parents to the children, and when the parents are of different races we get blending of the characteristics and so on. Some Native Americans even have different kinds of teeth than European-Caucasian descended folks do.

Basically it’s not something you can choose or change, it’s an immutable biological set of characteristics. I don’t know what “race” the Jews in Israel are exactly but I suspect it depends a lot on the region their ancestors are from. Many of them might even be the same “race” as Palestinians.

The military is not going to do any of that. The US Joint Chiefs have made it clear on multiple occasions that they take their oath of office to uphold the US Constitution very seriously, including at least 2 times in direct opposition to Trump’s bullshit.

They basically are the unofficial 4th branch of the US government, and their checks and balances are effective against fascists.

I’m in a rural town in the USA and I have all these options available. 5 minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants, fresh produce and eggs growing in my own backyard. Room for my kids and pets to roam and no HOA and even low amounts of traffic to deal with.

I’m suspicious of the timing of these posts, because I was bored enough to listen to “conservative” talk radio yesterday and I heard the repugnant outrage jockeys parroting the same stuff about DEI programs before the boat crash. They were talking about how everything is being ruined by diversity programs. They went on a tangent about how bad government websites are and one of them said “must have been a diversity hire” who built those crappy websites. I was a bit shocked at that blatant nonspecific racism.

It was baffling how they put so much energy into hating that stuff. Now I’m wondering if they were on a similar script to the trolls posted here.

I can definitely point to more good things Biden has done in his term than Trump did in his. Plus there’s the mountain of Trump’s crimes to compare with the non-mountain of non-crimes on Biden’s side. Of course, I’m not a fan of Biden’s authoritarian tendencies, but again Trump is far worse in that area.

Still not a good enough reason to reduce the privacy and freedom of any citizen. I don’t care if the mob uses cash, let the police track the serial numbers of their cash if they catch them doing crimes or whatever. The mob isn’t my problem, but losing freedom is bad for every citizen.

I certainly don’t blame the president for inflation, because I can see how all the corporations just decided to raise their prices because everybody else was raising their prices. It kinda seems like a rush to take all the profits they can like it’s their last chance to make money, which is quite disturbing to reflect on.

Personally I’ve only become more prosperous throughout the terms of the last 3 presidents. Biden’s presidency has been mostly positive improvement over Trump’s time in office. I’d never vote for Trump, and have voted against him 3 times already. My main problem with Biden is his repeated calls to ban guns, because individual liberty is the most important issue of all and gun bans are authoritarian garbage.

FYI smoking is wasteful. Blunts are the most wasteful way to waste your money on that. Vaping with convection and/or conduction heat source is the absolute best way to use those flowers.

The PS VR2 wouldn’t be an upgrade from the Index, it would be a downgrade in FOV, refresh rate, and controllers. Only the resolution is a bit higher than the Index
