Not that it matters, but I don’t think you should be getting down voted for expressing your perspective. I will say it comes off like you’re some kind of captain planet villain advocating for gas expansion.
Is this true? The series has had sequence breaks both intentional and otherwise in every game. I don’t think they parched the ones out of Dread either.
Classically, Congress held the power of the purse, able to both bar and require spending. This imposed a significant limit on Presidential power. With a bought court supporting him, Trump would have significant ability to essentially chart power as a king.
Weird, I think the whole PC console game war was relevant when I was a kid and everything was new and cool, but I think at this point the whole “who’s winning the console war” feels immature and is holding the industry back.
Like others have said, I don’t really give a shit what content runs on, so as long as it runs. Better if things run well and I can take them with me like the deck.
You can make the argument about why it’s better to play content on a PC but what’s the point of the comparison? Why does it matter who is better? In an ideal world, everything would run great on affordable PCs that everyone has access to, but I don’t think we’re at that reality.
I think the writing is on the wall at this point. Console sales aren’t great, and are losing their relevance. Most consoles share the same architecture and it looks like Microsoft is focusing more on making content much like Netflix does. That’s probably why they bought (and will keep buying) big game studios and publishers.
We paid over $320m for this water bridge that is sensitive to ocean waves because our allies won’t let us ship stuff somewhere? Why are we sending these people money again? Is everyone dead fucking broke when they want to do military stuff? Ffs our military complex is a bad joke.
I think these execs are trying to pump up the numbers then cash out. The pandemic and shift to remote work really scared the upper class when they realized people work just fine without them physically breathing down their neck every day.
Ah, it’s fine. I think the important part is keeping these games runnable on modern systems. I think D2 resurrected did a pretty good job of this, and the time is right since Fallout seems to have exploded in popularity.
I’m actually surprised to see how many people want Samus in Fortnite. I just don’t understand, what does it matter? If you want to see your favorite character in something, you can go consume their media. What about shooting a gun and doing a dance makes it special?
I don’t have a horse in this race, I was making a joke that the difference in the games appears to come down to one having a sexy Lady and one generally doesn’t AFAIK.
I believe Japanese gamers should have just as much access to Dead Space and any other American titles and vise-versa. I imagine the reasoning is along the lines of “video games make people violent” or something, but I think that should be a family or parental decision, not the government.
While I’m at it, I don’t think pornographic or pornographic adjacent content should be available to minors, and I cringe at some of the stuff I see on the Nintendo or Playstation stores, that’s probabaly my most conservative view.
To most of us, this is probably just a summary of events over the past year or so. But, it’s good to know that this sort of news is reaching non-gaming channels.
I’m sure there are cases where someone is spending money they shouldn’t, or they know better, but we have to acknowledge that a lot of tactics used are the same predatory strategies that take advantage of human addiction. I don’t think people should gamble, or bet on sports but that shit is everywhere, and it’s normalized. It’s no wonder why so many people fall into it because they don’t think it’s dangerous.
We can scream at people and tell them to stop, but that’s not a real solution, at least I don’t see how that really works. A predatory studio puts out a game that people want to play, then if it fails because people don’t buy enough, they just shut everything down and cancel the content, even when people want it. I think there examples of this happening now.
I don’t know why you’re being down voted for being informative. Nintendo are a notorious bunch of greedy dicks and they do go out of their way to shut down anyone possibly enjoying stuff they no longer support.
I dunno, is this an issue? There have been a lot of successful single player releases in the past few years. I’m glad people feel they need to still exist but I don’t think single player games are going to stop being a medium.
In the end, I just think companies are greedy, and that’s why we’re seeing problems and layoffs in the game industry.
You famously never know what you’re going to get when you open a box of chocolates. But for Belgium, a state that’s synonymous with the high-end confectionery, soaring cocoa prices are making life for the nation’s chocolate aficionados even more uncertain than usual....
I’m glad people are making the effort to investigate all these deployments and showing people what this tech actually is. More people need to understand this isn’t some advanced intelligence. It’s neat and can be useful but is oftentimes wrong.
Seems like company decision makers continue to be out of touch with what people want. People seem much more excited about products like the steam deck which play most of your whole library on Linux at very reasonable quality.
I think the console exclusivity game is nearing the end, there’s going to have to be some actual innovation for people to come out of their pockets.
