I’m asking mostly because recently I was wondering about this loss functionality since I hacked my unit lol, it would be great to use something like custom servers… Just as if it was Wimmfi or the Pretendo project (that ain’t working yet AFAIK).
Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...
The nostalgia + the recent news about the sequel of BT3 got me, I decided to fire this up in my smartphone with my Razer Kishi and Aethersx2, so far it runs very well, although I decided to play the story, so I haven’t played that much with those new characters lol.
I’d prefer no scratches at all, even if that means sacrificing probability, I mean, we could always use screen protectors for that matter, in fact I did, but it never stopped me from overprotecting my clamshell handhelds.
I’m starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what’s going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Here are a few of mine:...
I’m on your side a bit, I mean, I hate getting lost, for me that ain’t immersion, having a HUD or being able to look beyond your usual sight scope is awesome and one of the best features of the videogames which are an escape of our mostly boring life.
With that being said, the other day I was playing BOTW (with HUD) in handheld mode in pitch dark (late night) with my headphones put on and I felt totally immersed more than when I play on my 50 inch TV, IDK, it just helps you to isolate in Hyrule that way I think.
I have never played a Baldurs game, but I’m planning to play this one when I eventually get a PS5… And I thought it would suck with conventional controllers.
I feel you bro, and the saddest thing is that I don’t even feel comfortable playing it when on vacation because it drains the battery as crazy lol, and I don’t enjoy using powerbanks.

Well, I’m on the side of the people who don’t like the soundtrack in the wild, for me it feels boring and uninspiring and don’t get me started with the shrine tracks lol, I’d rather put a playlist on my end of the old tracks if it supported Spotify like the PS4 does.
Aside from that, the world is pretty great, quite empty but never boring because it always has some subtle highlights which keeps you wondering, should I go to that place, should I go to that other place that I’m seeing?
These could be games that left a lasting impression on you, games that had stellar gameplay mechanics, characters that captivated you, games that you played tons of hours on, etc.
I’m pretty sure ad experience will move some masses, I liked Chrome because Ublock works fine there, it has great extensions support and the best compatibility with the websites, but if you remove the adblocker support I would have moved (if I hadn’t already) in a heartbeat
I mean, even the 3DS and the Vita were capable of performing this with the screen totally off (the 3DS lid closed).
And we are all used to doing this as a background task after all, I can even imagine myself having to have the screen on all the times to download the endless updates of my PS4 🫥
Pretty much, I use Telegram always I can (I know it is not Signal, but there are tons of custom ROMs groups and channels and I use it to chat with closest friends), and oh boy it is just better than WhatsApp in any aspect since… Since I don’t remember when I started to use it… It just got updated with an enhanced reply system (quotes) and it is awesome.
Meanwhile family, companies and pretty much everyone else is at WhatsApp… I mean it could be worse, it could be Messenger LMAO.
I was shocked when I read around here in Lemmy that people chat with SMS on Android those haven’t been used here since 2012 at least!
I helped for the battles and reading the dialogues but he did all the exploring by himself. He’s so thrilled, but also sad it’s over. Now I’m hesitant between Pokemon FireRed (he loves Pokemon but that a lot more text to read) or PaperMario TTYD (but we don’t have a switch for the remaster version). Any other ideas for...
Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii (I have yet to play the Switch version).
Ace Attorney Trilogy/ Hotel Dusk for Nintendo DS.
Kinda cheating in the third one, but I am not even sure these are my favorites, they are the ones I have played the most that is for sure (maybe honorable mention to Toy Story 2 for PS1 lol).
EDIT: Honorable mentions to Shadow of The Colossus and God of War 2018, heck it is almost impossible to narrow this down to 3 games.
I still get shivers just reminding how awesome that first look to the first colossus was… I was like… I need to kill THAT with this crappy bow and this weak sword??? (The arrows didn’t drain any significant life and the sword always bounced while hitting things).
Did he play online as well? Perhaps I might know him.
A sequel is much needed for sure, indeed I almost fell into this April’s fool video lol.
Anyway, maybe it would be of your interest, or your friend, to know that we still gather together to play JUS thanks to Wimmfi, there is a Discord server where we arrange battles, and even a tournament is on debate.
Although I haven’t played BOTW I saw my gf finish it, and I think you are correct, the “dungeons” feel pretty weak, I’d say even boring as a not focused spectator.
The OST wasn’t any memorable to me as well.
I didn’t play MM back in the days only recently played the 3DS version, and I think it had some quality of life improvements, to the degree that felt as cool as Ocarina of Time, indeed I prefer MM, although I don’t think it has the same replay value as the anxiety issues that it comes with for most people 😅
I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....
That is one of the biggest disadvantages of the PC IMHO…
I remember what a pain in the ass is to achieve split screen in the Left 4 Dead game… Is that annoying that I actually got the Xbox 360 version to play with my gf lol.
