Lost Arts - Polly’s Brew Co - 5.1% ABV. B++, hazy, juicy, hoppy and really refreshing. Gentle, fruity, bitter finish #ale#beer#bier
3.5/5. Drinking Mold 🏴 and it’s a little corker. Bright skies to the right, angry dark clouds to the left. The Great British Summer. #beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
Hearty Bitter - Yorkshire Heart - 3.7% ABV. B+ and a bit, big and malty with a hint of earthiness. A lingering gentle bitter and earthy finish #ale#beer#bier
Smooth Hound - Tomos & Lilford - 5.2% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty, earthy, spicy with a complex, gentle bitter finish #ale#beer#bier
3.3/5. Supporting Vale brewers and it’s not even my birthday. Sunny a bit now and dropped back to 4G / LTE. Chips next. #Newport#beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
Blonde - Saltaire Brewery - 4.0% ABV. B+ and a bit and a touch. Light, refreshing with a pleasing citrus fruitiness #ale#beer#bier
3.4/5. A brew much better suited to last weekend’s Summer Sun. Grey and cool today but at least I’m back out Beanoing. #beersofmastodon@beersofmastodon
I hadn't been to Third Hill Brewing in #SilverSpring, #Maryland since opening weekend, so Mrs. Porterman and I stopped by. She had the Fun Time Selzer and loved it. I had the I Hart Stout, a 10.1% ABV imperial stout. Malty, roasty, and smooth. I followed it up with Three Strikes, You're Stout!, a 6.8% ABV American stout. This one reminded me of a black IPA. I just loved the hoppy bitterness, and it's one of the best beers I've had in a very very long time. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason@beersofmastodon
Maximus, in collaboration with a liquor store and local beer club: Una Maximas, NZ rice lager.
👃🏻Grape, lime, peach, chives.
👁️ Light yellow, hazy. Stable white head.
👅 Dry, thin body, but the hop aromas make for a tasty brew. Very refreshing, and easy drinking. Very slight hop burn.
I received a box full of goodness from the Maximus #brewery
in Utrecht (NL), following the release of their newest special: Psycho Cyclops NEIPA. I tried it, and wrote a blog post about the experience!
Spoiler: it's smooooth, not bitter at all, and massively tropical.🍻
Even better and more balanced than a few years ago: smokey, tar, leather, earthy and some sweetness wrapped around it.
Music pairing: Mouth for War - Panterra 🤘
"Our GROM made a trip to mediaeval Scotland. We have aged our Russian Imperial Stout in freshly emptied Laphroaig barrels. A slightly peated monster of a stout. Just as William Wallace would have liked it."
In a masterclass, we learned all about blending wild ales, and how to construct a balanced yet complex beer based on mouthfeel, bitters and acidity. Quite the art!
You Can’t Take It With You - Silent Brew - 5.5% ABV. B++, hazy murk. Fruity, juicy, hoppy, hint of earthiness with a lingering fruity bitter finish #ale#beer#bier
