In September 2022, Gamurs again went on a buying spree, snapping up a number of sites from rival network Enthusiast Gaming, including The Escapist, Destructoid and Siliconera.
So these are the same people who bought the escapist, fired the editor-in-chief, and caused the whole team to quit in protest.
I’ve been watching the escapist since around 2007 (originally on their website), and have been reading Destructoid since 2011ish. Thankfully the team behind the escapist managed to escape and create Second Wind, but I suspect that there’s not much hope of Destructoid doing the same.
