That’s only a useful change if their warranty support was actually helpful to begin with. Now you get two years of them trying to bait people into unnecessary out-of-warranty repairs.

After using Kagi a few months I’ve switched to Brave, and been pretty happy with it. It can be low on image results, but for regular web results I haven’t needed anything else.
Kagi was pretty good, but it didn’t really seem good enough compared to Brave search to justify $10 a month.
This is just steam titles in the verified program. Protondb has 21k steam games that are reported working, and there’s also non-steam games and emulation.
Brave does have an option to use anonymous Google results as a fallback if their index doesn’t return enough results, but it will ask you before it does it.
Problem is that regular Google results are also getting worse. Google has to change something about search, and they’re most worried about chatgpt being a better alternative to Google search.
Microsoft has started rolling out a.i. to its Windows Operating System for PCs. This “feature” pretends to make it easier to find documents on a computer....
Stadia was pretty cool honestly, it just never caught on, and it’s game library couldn’t compete with other platforms.
It was magical feeling though, just being able to play any game from my library in anything with a screen. Any Chromecast, Chromebook, old PC, phone, tablet, etc. They could all run any game, and you could switch between them at any time if someone else needed the TV or something like that.
It made it easy to imagine a future where you don’t worry about how to play a game, or ever spend money on a new console or upgrades, or ever have to delete games so you can wait to download another game. You just think “I want to play this game on this screen” and it works.
To be fair, that’s the low power Ally with a pretty significant 20% off sale.
I’m not well educated on the power difference, but a quick google search shows the cheaper Ally gets about 60% the benchmarked performance of the more expensive Ally when plugged in. There’s also a significant drop when not plugged in, but less severe (only about a 20% drop in fps). Source
I suppose the real question is how does it compare to a Steam Deck at that price, and if the drop in power is worth the price difference.
I think Sony just delisted Ghost of Tsushima from all countries where PSN isn’t available, even though it’s primarily a single player game that won’t require PSN.
So Sony is still on their bullshit, even though they conceded over Helldivers.
I had tried one of the early Siralim games (2 or 3), and didn’t really get into it. Would you say 4 is improved enough to change that, or is it mostly the same?
Xenoblade Chronicles has been one of the broadly popular JRPG series as of late, particularly within my own social circles. I have heard mostly good things about the games, and some vocal criticisms about the second game in particular. After finally picking up a Switch last year, I have now made my way through most of the...
The combat does speed up some the farther you progress, and there are some classes, characters, and items that will speed it up more. Agnus characters (who are based on the XC2 characters) are much faster (and in my opinion) far more fun to play as.
I’m a huge fan of turn based combat, but I do really enjoy combat in XB2 and XB3. The issue is that the combat isn’t very fun at the beginning, but gets progressively better as you progress through the game and unlock more combat systems. 2 is especially guilty of this, it takes most of the game to become good, but then becomes literally my favorite combat system of any game. It’s one of those combat systems where I want the enemies to have as much HP as possible so that I can fight them for as long as possible.
The DLC’s for 2 & 3 have a modified combat system that comes online much quicker, and is almost immediately fun. XB2 Torna is a good choice IMO as a title that can be played out of sequence, while offering good combat that gets going much faster than the other games.
Xenoblade 1 has the most interesting setting and best large scale story, but I feel like it falls short of the other games everywhere else. I really feel like default movement speed is too slow, or that the world desperately needs more in it. The world feels huge, and your people feel slow, and it just feels bad to go places. Combat is also slow and generally the worst of the series, but I really like the inclusion of the monado and its abilities.
1’s DLC was better, but I’d still rank it below the other games.
2 is rough around the edges with controversial character design, but I loved the characters, story, and end game combat. The combat started very poor, and took most of the game to get good, but somewhere near the end it finally clicked and became my absolute favorite combat system of any game. I found myself wanting enemies to have as much HP as possible for fights to last as long as possible. I wasn’t personally bothered by the “waifus”, and I actually kinda enjoyed the gacha system since it was separate from any microtransactions and cores are easy to get.
2’s DLC Torna was really fun. The combat is much better starting out than 2’s combat, although it doesn’t quite reach the same heights either. Overall very fun though.
3 is the most polished by far, but while it’s overall combat is more polished than 2’s, it doesn’t quite reach the same levels of or fun as two’s late game combat does. I enjoyed the story most of the way through (especially chapter 5) but I thought the ending was maybe weaker than it should have been.
3’s DLC was super fun, the way that everything I did turned into skill points was super engaging. It was also great to play as Rex again after bonding with him in 2.
XCX was the first game I played in the series. The larger story has some significant issues, but the side stories are often really good. The combat is an improved version of XC1’s, and I found it much more tolerable. The world is amazing, one of my favorite open worlds. The mechs are awesome. The game has insane power scaling, you’ll go from dealing 6 damage with an attack to millions with a late game build, and it feels amazing. You get a real sense that you’re growing exponentially, and it feels good. Movement is the best of any of the xeno games, it just feels good to run around. It makes me kinda confused why movement in the other games is so slow when they can make it feel this good. Overall a great game, just very different from the others.
Yeah, and he had the gall to say that after Suicide Squad flopped. Guy legitimately looked at suicide squad and Hogwarts Legacy, and decided that more games like suicide squad should be their focus.
DRG made an effort with all of their seasons to make sure that players wouldn’t be locked out of cosmetics or other rewards. I’m not surprised that they wouldn’t want people locked out of experiences either.
I have been messing with my raspberry pi 400 and stumbled across box86. This program converts x86 calls to arm. And it works pretty well, i got the orginal pvz (disk verison) running through wine and box 86! The game is slow on cutscenes but gameplay is suprisingly playable and was more playable then my first pc lmao!...
Its crazy that a fanless 15watt arm chip can run old games this wel! Compared to a pentium 4 thats is taking off.
It’s not fanless, but the Steam Deck APU also has a 15w max (total power consumption can climb up to ~25w after fans/screen/etc). Overall really impressive what can be run these days on so little power.
That’s worse than I expected. The game’s art style alone will likely earn it some points, the fact that scores are this low with the art style probably means the game underneath has some real issues.
Unlikely unfortunately, they don’t currently offer replacement motherboards at all.
When the ifixit repair parts initially leaked, they had a replacement motherboard available but priced at $350. Later when ifixit officially started ordering repair parts, the motherboard was no longer available.
My guess is that it wasn’t worth selling the motherboard for $350 when a 64gb deck was only $400. I’d imagine the same issue would apply to an “upgrade” motherboard.

It may be ready, I haven’t tried their latest version. Most of the functionality was there, but it had some rough spots. I’ve been meaning to go back and try daily driving it again.
The year is 2051. The Witcher 9 live service game is coming out this year, and it’s supposed to be the industry’s first A x 10^14 game, but Ubisoft has shattered expectations by announcing that their next Assassins Creed will be A x 10^16, skipping an entire generation of A’s.
Is it though? It had less explosive growth than Helldivers 2, but it sold 8+ million copies, not counting everyone playing it on game pass for free.
Also this is hardly scientific, but just looking at my friends list (of 60 people), over 50% of my friends own deep rock, nearly making it the single most commonly owned game among my friends. The only games I see that are more popular are left4dead 2 and the portal games. In comparison, just over 25% of my friends have Helldivers 2. Obviously a sample size of 60 isn’t enough to extrapolate to overall popularity, but from what I’ve seen Deep Rock has been extremely consistently popular for years.
It’s done well enough to turn its studio into an independent publisher, and just having a spin-off game sharing the Deep Rock name was enough to sell a million copies in a month of early access.
My understanding is that a locally hosted SearXNG instance doesn’t really give you any privacy, unless you “dilute” your searches by letting others do searches from your instance too.
I’m willing to forgive ffmpeg because it can do an insane amount of stuff. It’s nice to know whenever I have a weird media related need (converting a file, cropping and compressing a video for discord, etc) that I already have a tool capable of doing it on my machine. Just takes a quick search for the command and I’m ready to go.
To be honest, I kept a text file of all my most common ffmpeg commands in my video folder for quick reference.
