cmnybo, Some server fans are very powerful. I certainly wouldn’t want to be near a rack full of these without hearing protection.
0x4E4F, He’s overdriving it though, you don’t use a lab supply to power a fan unless you’re planning on pushing it above 12V.
cmnybo, It could be overdriven, but a lot of the higher powered fans are 24 volts.
