We have 2 Tecware Phantom RGB at home that have been great. They have a decent number of options and we’ll under $100.
I just use the RGB for backlighting, but SO had the pudding caps and they look great if you’re into that. The software hasn’t been too bad for us either.
It’s mostly a copy of my 34 key layout so the thumb keys are shift - space - enter - layer. Having the spacebar would throw that off. I was tempted but in the end I didn’t want to lose a key on the top three rows for “enter”.
Haha its actually a Neon Genesis Evangelion themed keycap set so the additional keycaps are icons of the angels. I have them wired up to Vim and AutoHotkey shortcuts.
I use a Planck for my travel keyboard. The circuit board and the plate are a little wobbly after having it for 3 years now, which is a little annoying but doesn’t affect the function of the board.
I can just feel things moving around when I pick up the board.
I opened the case and checked out the circuit board itself, but the wobbliness was something I couldnt do anything about.
I first got into keyboards because I wanted am ergonomic keyboard but didn’t want to pay 200+ for one so I made a redox.
20 for switches 20 for keycaps 10 for 2 off brand Arduinos 20 for the case I asked a friend to print. I already had the tools so thats it.
Now I want a 60% but I’m too lazy to solder so I just ordered a hot swappable one for 30 from AliExpress and will change the switches sometime in the future
No problem, it does change quite a bit based on lighting. I only realized today that my current keycaps aren’t as good of a match to the blue because it was sunny out XD
I switched over from using a Happy Hacking Keyboard after two or three years and really enjoyed having the left control key in place of the Caps Lock key. So, my main profile has that set up.
I have that same set that you have in this pic but the space bar for some reason catches and doesn’t pop back up properly. It really sucks because I love how they look :(
Dang, my left shift is a bit sticky if you hit it from the far left side, bit spacebar is ok. I got these for like $20 something on Amazon so I didn’t expect much. This board deserves better
Dang that sucks about the sticking. If you are looking to get some high end keys, I’ve heard good things about kbdfans.com and have been occasionally browsing and thinking about pulling the trigger myself.
