You would need to change from your current stab to 2x 2u stabs.

Although Idk why you would bother if you’re going to map both to space, most people map one to backspace or sometimes return.

I'm super happy with my keychain c1, though it is my first so I've got nothing to compare to. dunno how much I paid, wasn't much tho

HidingCat,

You mean Keychron right? Your autocorrect kinda messed it up for you.

milkytoast,
@milkytoast@kbin.social avatar

lol yea

ducking autocorrect

anon6789, in Looking for nice budget keyboard

We have 2 Tecware Phantom RGB at home that have been great. They have a decent number of options and we’ll under $100.

I just use the RGB for backlighting, but SO had the pudding caps and they look great if you’re into that. The software hasn’t been too bad for us either.

yeanomaybe, in Low profile keycaps

Link your board and folks will be better able to assist. The switch type makes a big difference for stem and height.

What’s the typeface on the keycaps?

WFH,
@WFH@lemmy.world avatar

FX300 Angular. Basically the WipeOut Pure typeface.

no space bar/key?

hannadryad,

It’s mostly a copy of my 34 key layout so the thumb keys are shift - space - enter - layer. Having the spacebar would throw that off. I was tempted but in the end I didn’t want to lose a key on the top three rows for “enter”.

GrouchyLady, in Succumbed to an OLKB Planck
@GrouchyLady@lemmy.world avatar

What are the center yellow keys? I feel like I need a spider key, but I don’t know why.

hannadryad,

Haha its actually a Neon Genesis Evangelion themed keycap set so the additional keycaps are icons of the angels. I have them wired up to Vim and AutoHotkey shortcuts.

It has to also work on other OS’s though, right?? It’s priced quite reasonably, I wonder what the build quality is like?

richard_wagner, in Succumbed to an OLKB Planck

Nice! Sound test?

I use a Planck for my travel keyboard. The circuit board and the plate are a little wobbly after having it for 3 years now, which is a little annoying but doesn’t affect the function of the board.

I can just feel things moving around when I pick up the board.

I opened the case and checked out the circuit board itself, but the wobbliness was something I couldnt do anything about.

malappapas, (edited ) in How to get started cheaply?

I first got into keyboards because I wanted am ergonomic keyboard but didn’t want to pay 200+ for one so I made a redox.

20 for switches 20 for keycaps 10 for 2 off brand Arduinos 20 for the case I asked a friend to print. I already had the tools so thats it.

Now I want a 60% but I’m too lazy to solder so I just ordered a hot swappable one for 30 from AliExpress and will change the switches sometime in the future

EntropicNinja, in Keyboards for travel

I know I’m late to the party, but I’ve just ordered the new lofree flow, a low profile keeb.

kilted_cyclist, in Keycap suggestion

KAM Superuser would look great against the grey case you have.KAM Superuser

root,
@root@lemmy.world avatar

My case is sky blue :o

kilted_cyclist,

My mistake. Couldn’t tell if it was blue or was grey and looked like blue due to lighting.

root,
@root@lemmy.world avatar

No problem, it does change quite a bit based on lighting. I only realized today that my current keycaps aren’t as good of a match to the blue because it was sunny out XD

PeepinGoodArgs, in Use Cases for Particular Profiles?

I switched over from using a Happy Hacking Keyboard after two or three years and really enjoyed having the left control key in place of the Caps Lock key. So, my main profile has that set up.

EeeDawg101, in Keycap suggestion

I have that same set that you have in this pic but the space bar for some reason catches and doesn’t pop back up properly. It really sucks because I love how they look :(

root,
@root@lemmy.world avatar

Dang, my left shift is a bit sticky if you hit it from the far left side, bit spacebar is ok. I got these for like $20 something on Amazon so I didn’t expect much. This board deserves better

EeeDawg101,

Dang that sucks about the sticking. If you are looking to get some high end keys, I’ve heard good things about kbdfans.com and have been occasionally browsing and thinking about pulling the trigger myself.
