As someone who had carpal tunnel in both hands that had to be fixed surgically, this would be an absolute nightmare to use. My hands cramp just thinking about it.
OhmsLawn, I could see it being possible to use, if they were the spring-loaded momentary toggles, and mounted upside down, so up was off. It would still be horrible, but possible.
